There's something big coming in this city. - Chris Matthews link
<snip>
If there are indictments, they're going to be probably in the vice president's office, they're probably going to come next week and they are going to blow this White House apart.

It's going to be unbelievable.

2. Tweety, having buyer's remorse?
Edited on Wed Oct-19-05 08:15 PM by SCRUBDASHRUB
<snip>
I think the people watching right now who are voters better start paying attention to this issue.

It's not just about whether somebody's name was leaked, it's about whether we went to war under false pretenses or not, whether people knew about that or not, and what they did when they were charged against that kind of offense against the United States.

It's serious business.
<snip>

Gee, thanks, Tweety. Now, where were you this time last year...when it could have really made a difference? Having buyer's remorse, Chris?

It would be fun to hear what tweety had to say if the whole bushit family were in prison, though.

5. I don't like this at all.
He is putting all the blame with Cheney and removing * from any of the responsibility for lies that took us to war. I think that this is how it is going to go down. There is an attempt to salvage *. I have a bad feeling about this.

It has been all about Cheney for a few days. Today is the first day of possibly involving *. I hope that is what it is.

19. actually, I never expected that any of this would land on Bush....
....but it certainly is having an affect on the entire administration!! So it will still affect him in the end.

7. "George W. Bush will be running this country completely on his own"
Which means this country is so fucking fucked...can we find some adults to run the place instead? Pretty please....

20. A Very Good Friend of Mine Who Never Political
recently sent this to me -

"Looks like Rove is out of the loop and the end is near
for Bush. Rove would've never let Bush pick Miers and
Rove would've never let the preperation for that
staged press conference with the soldiers get out.
I can almost imagine it.
Bush realizes that he's just a patsy for Rove and Cheney
and Rumsfield and Condi.
He's gets all indignant and pouty.
"I'm a growned-up,dammit! I can do stuff, I'm smart.
I'll show them. All you big bullies get outta my oval office!
I'ma gunna run this country! After all, I'm almost the
president!".
And Cheney and Rove say "screw it, if he wants to hang
himself let's give him the rope
(I never liked him much anyways)."
And this is what we get. Lowest approval rating for
him ever and we just topped over 50% of the country
thinking that the war is a bad idea (and that number
is climbing daily).
Maybe that one guy was right. We hadn't suffered
enough under the repugnicans in the last election and
it would take 4 more years of grief and strife to make
people see the light. All I know is that it looks
like the lights coming.

21. I certainly agree with part of that.........
......that Rove wouldn't have let the press conference with the soldiers get out or that it would have looked as bad as it did as a finished product!

I figured that Rove has been so busy trying to figure out a way to keep his butt out of jail that he didn't have time to do PR for Bush.

Let's hope the rest of it is true too........

8. Oh please - think. For 5 or 6 days Tweety has been spinning
for Bush/Rove section of the WH in setting up a feud between B/R and Cheney/Libby. Purpose being that Bush can say that C/L lied to me and I didn't know. Tweety and Fineman are doing the work requested of them by Andy Card - its late in the game but working nevertheless given the number of people even on DU that are buying into some sort of Tweety change of heart.

Now, Tweety is over-hyping what is coming down the road so that when it is not as bad as he is currently acting like it is going to be we (the citizens) will be greatly releived and go back to our day to day lives having dodged a major bullet. And Tweety will go on jerking off for the boys in the big white house.

17. That's a reach. I welcomed the discussion. Bush can't effectively
distance himself from Cheney. If Cheney goes down, there's nothing Bush can do to stop the tide from turning against him. If it's just Libby, then they recover. I welcome any and all speculation regarding Cheney's involvement.

14. The WH should have known better than to go to war with the CIA.
tsk tsk.

You can bet Cheney's profits from Haliburton are going come into question in a big way after any indictments.

That was some piece. And I have to admit, it's good to see someone in the MSM putting this whole thing in the bigger context.

Lies, lies, lies. War, war, war.

in Shrum's blog, talking about the Iraq vote, he says:

"We've turned the corner so many times in Iraq that we're just circling the block."

haha.......I just thought that was funny!

Chris did a great job too! I enjoyed his comments for a change.
