Tweety (Chris Matthews - hardball) -- ooops?
ok I admit it - sometimes I tune into Tweety - but in my defense it's only for a few minutes and mainly to catch the news crawlers...

enny-whoo - Tweety's been running with the Treasongate story

two things have stood out:

1. according to TWEETY - (and he's said it as a preface several times) - Joe Wilson was sent to Niger by his wife. This is not true. According to more reliable sources - Plame was approached about sending in Wilson to investigate the Niger claim, she brought Wilson into the office, made the normal introductions and left. The decision to send in Wilson was not hers.

2. in a scramble to 'explain' bush*'s poor job performance over the past 3 months (tweety's time frame - not mine) he said that ROVE was distracted by the investigation.

Think about that -- bush* is screwing up because ROVE was distracted -- big oops on Tweety's part? To me it confirms that bush* can't function without ROVE - and should send up more than a few red flagged questions as to who is really running the country

4. If the Chimp loses both Rove and Cheney then it gets scary
Will Bush enter into some type of wimpish paralysis where he does nothing? Or will he overcompensate to show his manhood by going nuts and making every foolish decision he can, off the top of his head? If Bush goes rudderless, it's unfortunate that he will be piloting the ship of State on which all of us are passengers.

5. Tweety is reporting a LOT on this story, so I watch him.
But the entire time I am thinking, "Tweety, why don't you report on YOURSELF?" You know DAMN well that after that quote in Wilson's book from Tweety that Fitzgerald talked to him. What smart prosecutor would not? Yet he has NOT discussed that AT ALL. It really makes me take everything he says with a grain of salt.
