Developing: Takebackthemedia.com "Secret Agent Plame" to be played on AAR
Gee, just like RawStory :)

Had a chat with Mike Malloy on his show tonight promoting my film "Rove's War" for which I wrote the music, and at the end of the film for the credits, I performed a cover of a song, "Secret Agent Plame" for fun..

Well, I got cut off while talking to Mike, and while I was redialing my wife emailed the mp3 of my song to Malloy and when I got back into the cue to finish my chat with Mike, he was coming back on after commercials, and I noticed that the leadin to the show was playing something familiar, MY SONG! Blew my mind.. Mike was laughing and saying, "Hey, anything sound familiar?" I was speechless for a moment, as I had said we'd email him the song tomorrow, my wife had beat me to it..

He laughed some more and then said that they'll play the whole song (not just the lead in) tomorrow on the Mike Malloy Show..

So have a LISTEN to Mike Malloy tomorrow and hear the whole thing, and share my joy that a "joke" song I performed is actually getting played on a REAL RADIO Station - and Air America Radio to boot..

He's such a great guy.

What a kick! Now it's getting to be FUN :) (It's a little reverby, but the lead RIPS..)

The lyrics are on my site, at the bottom of the page: http://www.takebackthemedia.com

5. Here's an Editor & Publisher Article about the song
Rock 'n Rove: Johnny Rivers Hit Inspires 'Secret Agent Plame'

NEW YORK Finally the Valerie Plame/CIA leak scandal has a song some (perhaps only the left) can dance to: a takeoff on the old Johnny Rivers hit, "Secret Agent Plame."

It's featured on the soundtrack of a DVD film about Karl Rove that's available at TakeBackTheMedia.com, titled "Rove's War." The song is written and sung (also with lead guitar) by someone whose name appears to be Symbolman. He also produced and directed the film.

The Rivers song itself was the theme to the TV series "Secret Agent Man."

The Web site has a link to an mp3 of the song and a 12-minute preview of the film.

Other possible parodies based on old songs come to mind, such as "Spy in the House of Rove" or a play on a Springsteen/Zevon number that could be called "Judy Needs a Scooter." Other suggestions can be sent to: letters@editorandpublisher.com.

*****************************************************

Here are the "Secret Agent Plame" lyrics:

SECRET AGENT PLAME

There's a gal who led a life of danger
Everyone she met she stayed a stranger
With every move she makes, another story breaks
Odds are her old pals won't see her tomorrow

Secret agent Plame, secret agent Plame,
Rove took away your number and gave away your name

Beware of yellow cake that you can't find, gal
The news'll drag your name right through a minefield
Not caring what they'd say
The White House gave you away
Odds are Bush's pals will get a medal,

Secret agent Plame, secret agent Plame
Rove took away your number and gave away your name

Spying on the Saudi Arabs one day
Being in the paper's headlines next day
Oh Karl let the wrong word slip
And Bob Novak had loose lips
Traitors in the White House can't be fired,

Secret agent Plame, secret agent Plame
Rove took away your number and gave away your name

6. No, no, no, you've got it ALL wrong.
First of all, the content of your post shouldn't be anything more than the subject line and the link to takebackthemedia.com

Then, on *your* site, you put the content of your post and then a link to Malloy, along with exactly one jagillion advertisements.

Nice try, though. Hippie.

Lol..

But if I did that then I would have to complain about the CORPORATE MEDIA who's ads I pummel visitors with, But who I use for Vindication for my Developing News Flash Breaking.. and how they are trying to RUIN ME, and the Right wing media, which is actually the Liberal Media masquerading as the Liberal media..but if they don't like someone like me then that means they don't like YOU of course..

and then write a story about it someday, but I don't have time for that as I have some place very important to go to (so important I can't tell the likes of you) and do important things at (so important that I would have to kill you if I told you) so that I can get some kind of Important award for being the Most Important Important Person in the Fighting both sides of the Media game.

You know of course that the RIGHT and LEFT Both HATE the REAL Press like me.. so of course that just leaves ME to Save the World, and with so many Developing Stories it gets so busy that sometimes I just somehow get confused and actually LINK to MYSELF! It's happened 3 or 4 hundred times by accident, silly me, who would suspect since I'm such an outgoing person, full of love for everyone but anyone who disagrees with me slavishly..

I'm just no good at this, one "Punch the Monkey" banner and I'm feel like a sell out :)

Hippie? That's "Neo Gap Punk Altruist" in journalese :)

9. Actually much like Zappa
I've always had a distaste for Hippies - Zappa said that drugs were a tool of the Govt to keep people stupid, I guess it took the drugs awhile to kick in with the after effects..

They became balding, suspender wearing, botox injecting, stock broking, SUV driving Soccer Moms and Dads who told their kids that Speed Turns You Into Your Parents to scare them, and of course the kids immediately turned to Concaine, Crack and Ice :)

If you call me a Hippie once more time I am going to wish Peace on you so hard it'll make your aura spin :)

10. Well, I go to the Burning Man festival...
...and most of the people there hate hippies, too. We consider them freeloaders.

I just enjoy calling people hippies because I have long hair. (Not that you would have known that.)

14. I have long hair as well
luckily I've still got plenty of it too, especially on the top where it goes fast as you age - still lookin' good, it's the psychedelics that keep you young, stay away from the other stuff..

Now that I'm approaching 54 I go to the Burning & Itching Man Festival, where everyone downs Metamucil shots, boot up with Geritol and smoke their sons dreadlocks thinking they are Thai Sticks (the old brain don't work so good anymore).. :)

I really should do a Burning Man some day, bet it was a lot of fun in the beginning, probably a nightmare now.. bunch of middle aged Insurance Ladies taking it all off would make me swear off psychedelics forever :)

Hippies were the ones when I was a kid that had all turned into Speed Freaks, Burn Outs, or Junkies (or money Junkies who'd lost their soul), but paved the way for my generation to have a LOT of fun, taking it to the edge but actually backing away from it less than the ones that died in the previous gen..

It was so FUN in the 70's, people really LIKED each other, everyone talked in the streets, even in cities, none of this paranoid Zombie crap now, they had more funk in their step, nobody wore Gap uniforms..

sure miss those days. We'd whack Hippies, stack them like cordwood, and smoke them later :) harsh, but a decent buzz..

13. It was great! Here's another idea for a song...
Edited on Thu Oct-20-05 09:58 AM by calipendence
Take Gordon Lightfoot's song "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" and change it to the "Wreck of the Edmonds Fitzgerald!" and project what will happen when Fitzgerald gets testimony from Sibel Edmonds! He has been doing a lot of this court case in Chicago too, right off of the great lakes right? So kinda fits!

15. Gordon would be a hard act to follow
or cover.. I remember that song, it was in all the bars in the 70's, for some reason I was never able to figure out what the hell the song was about - but it stuck in my head..

and it's there right now THANKS TO YOU :)

Wish I had time, but right now I'm working on, "Stairway to Freebird" :)

thanks tho!

Edited on Thu Oct-20-05 10:28 AM by calipendence
If you do it later, I'm sure you'd do a fine job with it!

A couple of other ideas...

The "tragedy" of Judith Miller -
Judy Do - Thompson Twins

Howard Dean vs. the DLC and other Rethugs! -
Don't mess with Dr. Dream - Thompson Twins ("Don't Mess with Dr. Dean!")

BTW, looking forward to receiving my copy of the Karl Rove DVD set which I donated for earlier!

Also did hear you talking on Malloy last night! I'm sure he'll give you a lot of air time in the future! He was into it a lot I think!

24. Mike and Takebackthemedia.com go way back
we did news for the old labor radio show, forget the name now for about 6 months, did news for Thom Hartman for a while too..

I'd like to come up with some funny features for Mike if he was interested, thinking of a new project that would require less of my time and be a lot more fun for everyone, while poking holes in the Bush admin..

if they are still around :)

19. Yeah, I came to my senses
"doggies" are like that :)

I was called a DOGGIE here, right here on the DU, and when I asked what kind of DOGGIE, NO ANSWER.. to me that is irresponsible reporting..everyone knows I'm not a DOGGIE..

I'm a Yeti, from the Church of the SubGenius, a card carrying Yeti :)

But I'm still DEVELOPING.. maybe I should be posting, "TAKEBACKTHEMEDIA.COM - EVOLVING: YETI DISCOVERED ONLINE!"

Yetis are friendly but don't step on their toes or expose them to a rush of Commercial products or they go MAD, sure they are hairy, but who could mistake them for a DOGGIE?

This place really is a lot of fun when people don't take each other so SERIESLY.. :)

Thanks Sweetheart, Malloy gets better with age, like a fine wine, don't he?

20. Glad to make you smile
Mike is really fun to talk to, he makes me brighten up too - you feel like you're talking to someone that "gets it" and that helps us all feel better, eh?

I posted the lyrics here, I think I put too much reverb in the song, but like I said, the Lead is RIPPING :)

Thanks!

23. I can't claim all the credit
the Devil made me do it -- actually I've been hoping that it would become viral enough to somehow get to Valerie and/or Joe Wilson and they could have a good chuckle over it.. they are going through a lot and I appreciate them so much that I wanted to sort of "gift" this to them :)

thanks!
