HOW MANY PUNDITS WILL GO DOWN WITH WH INDICTMENTS? |
|
I am just wondering how many of these so-called news reporters who have told us lie after lie after lie to keep this corrupt administration in power will go down with them in the event of major indictments?
Who do you nominate to go down in flames?

1. I'm really not sure if any pundit will be indicted by the legal process, |
|
but in the court of public opinion, their credibility will be shot.
Screw the TV news anyway. With the exception of a few, newspapers are going to shit too. They're time has come and gone. They blew it. If you can't believe it, hell, it's just entertainment anyway.

3. Yeah, what I meant was in the court of public opinion... |
|
Just wondering how many of these highly paid lie-peddlers will have to mea culpa their way out of the past five years of lies???
Probably none will go down legally....you are right....

6. Their name has to come up in the investigation first. |
|
I don't expect the public to even remember who said what, when.

2. The whole damned Republican Establishment is wounded by this. |
|
Even the professional military don't trust the RW pols and talking heads, anymore. This spells a radical realignment in American politics.
Happened in 1929 and 1974. Takes a couple years for the impact to show up at the polls.

It's not like pundits and FoxNews commentators have to take an oath before they speak. They aren't public officials or testifying in court. They're covered by the First Amendment, just like everyone else.
The rule with ideas is, buyer beware. If only people shopped for information like they do for used cars.
A lie, in itself, isn't actionable until it harms, cheats or unfairly disparages another. That's where libel law, slander, fraud and assault come in. If you can show such a harm to yourself, sue their asses off.
The state is under no obligation to protect you from bad ideas by trying to preemptively ban them in politics and the news media. It's the responsibility of individuals to take action against liars.

10. I was just wondering how pundits like |
|
Andrea Mitchell and Tony Blankley and Pat Buchanen's sister and some others, even and especially c-span's Brian Lamb and all of those who have been constant Bush apologists are going to explain away their so-called "naivete" if and when the indictments come down so as to square themselves with their viewers/listeners/readers?

11. I expect they'll be just fine. After all, |
|
they did the same thing on the lead-up to the Iraq invasion. The talking heads either ignore their past lies completely, or reinvent the truth. I believe Chris Matthews claims that he's "been against the invasion of Iraq from the beginning", for instance- but his pre-invasion coverage suggests otherwise.
