RW CSPAN caller: "Plame outed herself by recommending her husband"
Edited on Thu Oct-20-05 06:49 AM by CottonBear
Topic: CIA leak investigation

RW callers are in lock step this morning. Most of them claiming Plame outed herself by sending Wilson to Africa, her "original intent was to hurt *" and there WAS uranium from Niger in Iraq. This smells of a White House staged call in. Next caller says Plame was never under cover. There are virtually no Democratic callers. There was one independent who blamed Plame.

Then there are the usual nuts like the woman who referred to the Democrats as her "former party" (She hasn't voted for a Democat since WWII) and kept referring to the Korean War and Clinton in the same sentence. She jsut had to work Clinton in there, somehow.

Hmm. All GOP and Independent callers today. Independent callers just ramble and don't make a point instead, they just take up airtime. Very strange since they've been begging for GOP callers on other days and during other segments. Damn, another * caller: Plame is at fault for outing herself. :eyes:

1. Gee, that's really gonna make Fitzgerald say "never mind!"
Actually, the WH is now into full damage control. The WH's problem is there's no amount of damage control they can do that will even begin to mitigate what's going to happen once the shit hits the fan.

15. I wonder what people in other countries think of the CSAPN callers?
I cringe when the fundies call in and insult foreign dignitary guests. It is embarassing to realize that so many of our citizens are so uninformed and uneducated about politics, foreign relations and reality in general.

38. Did You Hear The Guy Who Said God Was Mad About Bush?
I've been saying that since Falwell, Dobson & their ilk started saying bad things were happening to this country because god was mad. Well, someone on CSPAN finally said it. Yes, god is angry because Silverspoon is the prez.

The RW people I know have not even mentioned * or the various scandals at all. I'm the only Democrat at my office. They usually kid me for being a Democrat but lately they've been totally quiet. Not a word. I think they realize * and the gang are in big trouble.

There were a lot of RW talking points today. They've been working overtime convincing the freepers that Fitz is going to indict the Wilsons. Delusional!

11. Shall We Count The Blast Fax Talking Points...
That one had 'em all...

All the lies and then some...and lies that are still being spread and not refuted by the corporate media.

The biggie is that "Wilson's wife sent him to Niger". This lady went deep into the kool-aid claiming Valerie Plame already had a political agenda...as though Ms. Plame had written books or was a known political operative, instead of a NOC. Sheesh.

The next lie is that Wilson claims Chenney sent him. He has always maintained it was Chenney who requested the CIA to investigate the Niger claims, it was the CIA (not Plame) that decided to send Wilson based on his knowledge of Iraq and the leaders of that country.

Then there's the meme that Wilson found some kinda of Iraq/Niger activity. His report mentioned some preliminary business contacts...not even government to government. It wasn't even close. But the lie seems to fit real nice.

Of course Susan just smiled and let the lies roll on without mentioning these were talking points had been debunked many times over.

13. You are spot on. The callers all had the same talking points.
Can the CSAPN hosts mention that the callers are incorrect or that the talking points have been debunked?

I'm convinced that the Republicans and the * White House controlled the callers for that segment. There are never 4 callers on the independent line much less all 4 of them either supporting * or just rambling.

17. Brian Did It When People Called About Asshat's Going AWOL
He and other would regularly cut a caller in mid-sentence if they dared to call in and want to discuss questions regarding booooosh's lack of military service and his lost summer of 1972.

The Plame likes not only have been debunked, but these C-SPAN hosts know it. They read the blogs and I've heard several callers note Smoking Gun and Snopes for them to read up on what's going on.

These talking point callers are a regular feature on this show and have been for a long time. I don't mind hearing them cause it gives me a heads up where the hate radio shows and then the nightly news cycle is going.

BTW...I think it's time C-SPAN looked at changing their "Support boooosh" number as being synonymous to the Repugnican line. Does calling this line mean you automatically agree with feckless leader? If I were a Repugnican and felt sold out by this regime, I'd feel completely disenfranchised on this show now.

30. Sometimes the line is called "supports GOP." I don't know why
they change the title. It may have to do with the specific issue and how CSAPN wants to frame the debate so as not to bring blame upon the * administration.

Remember how all of the hosts denied that the DSM existed until we forced them to admit it?

34. Aw We're Just Making This Stuff Up...LOL
Thanks for reminding me about how Steve would downplay the DSM as a "rumor".

Yep, all this damned "librul" media.

Just look at all the AEI and Heritage Institute "experts" they bring on, the gamut of right wing pundits and hate radio asshats and the constant citing of the Washington Times. Yep, that's sure librul.

Regarding the lines...i'm with you 100% there. It's set to frame the way they want the regime to look. I remember the Democrat lines at one time were labeled "Defending Clinton". That says it all.

Cheers...

Despite the insane Blount clip lamenting his problems getting 94% of House Republicans aligned for yet another abomination of spending, she had the gall to query Spratt about whether the Democratic Congressional Caucus was in "lockstep" with regards to the budget reconciliation.

19. Reichbot callers on CSPAN are among the most Fact-Free ...
... people I've ever heard. These people might as well be claiming the earth is flat and the moon is made of green cheese for the degree of ignorance they display. These aren't people arguing about ideology on the basis of empirical facts; these are people with an obscenely cartoonish (myth-based) comprehension of reality. If nothing else, I think we need to revisit the standards for awarding a high school diploma in this country. These people are truly functionally illiterate. We're not even talking about something the bears any relationship to "intellectual elitism" -- not even in the same hemisphere! We're talking about fundamental learning defects, here.

26. I agree. Our educational system is turning out people who can't think
for themselves. There is no little or no ability to research historical facts and current events, critically analyze and form logical and cogent opinins. Rote learning methods create fact-free citizens.

I have spoken with a young woman who voted for * because of 9-11. I asked her if she knew that Iraq had nothing to so with 9-11 and that 15 of the hijackers were from Saudi Arabia? She had no idea of the facts. Even when confronted with the facts she still supported Bush.

I work with young men who all support *. One of them was in the army (He was training to fly the Blackhawk and was discharged for shin splints. He wanted to stay in but he was forced to leave. this was pre-9-11.), The others have never considered joining to support *'s war. Lately, though, they have not spoken much of their fearless leader.

39. They go from conjecture to conclusion to condemnation ...
... without passing through fact-checking or critical thinking. Their conjectures are the most free-ranging and mythologically-founded I've ever heard from anyone over the age of seven. I can only drop my jaw at the amount of effort it must take to sustain the kind of ignorance needed to voice some of the crap they spew. For example, how can any sentient being not recoil in horror at a military budget that's greater than the total combined spending of every other nation on the planet?? How can any sentient being call a proposed reduction in such spending "soft on defense"?? It's like calling a fellow mob member 'pansy' for not bashing in the last teeth of one of their victims lying bleeding on the ground. The pathology is incredible.

That's a great meme: "President bush didn't desert his military unit he was on a special mission; a mission from God."

The obligatory fundy caller just called in to let CSPAN viewers know that America is a Christian nation and our government is based on God. :eyes: There's always one of these callers each morning. You'd think they'd be off praying or doing good deeds, but no, they're repeat dialing CSPAN for hours at a time to get a chance to spout Jesus talk on live TV. :(

The United States is a Christian Nation. It is a nation where all citizens are free to go to the church of their choice, or not. Wearing blinders must be required for conservatives. Based on God? So we stone to death people who work on Sunday?

I'm off to the grocery store. We are firing up the grill for the first time since the hurricane tonight. The wife is assisting with cleaning up a fellow employees home in Chalmette today. She's an angel. FEMA guy came to the house yesterday, said they would pay for my new chainsaw. I'm not going to criticize FEMA but the amount of paperwork generated from my applying over the internet is incredible. The administrative costs far exceed the price of the chain saw. You have a fine Georgia day (and stop badmouthing those patriotic, honest republicans.)
