miers chastized; given second chance on her questionaire
Both heads, GOP and Dem, of the judiciary committee were so upset at the quality and lack of professionalism in the answers received from Harriet, that they returned it to her with instructions!

Come on. This lady is so incompetent that she didn't even screen the answers with the help of a former supreme court justice's clerk. She knows so little of the law and the constitution, that the top two senators returned her scribblings to her to redo.

This is an open book exam. This is the most important document she could ever fill out. It controls her destiny - whether to sit on the bench or not. Failure to do it right means a hell of a lot.

1. Don't they let her STUDY?
She's 60 years old, for Chris' sake, and all them constitutional law books are pretty thick. It's hard work...

THIS WOMAN IS A JOKE!
Of course, what do you expect from a BushCo insider. Their contempt for transparency or the public's right to know (via their representatives in Congress) is legend.

3. Bush has turned SCOTUS nomination into a farce
What an asshole. Fucking Bush doesn't even know or care about the damage he is doing. Miers seems like a hot air balloon.

4. I don't see how ANY republican can vote for her.
She is incompetent beyond belief. If I was a republican, I would be offended that the chimp picked such an incompetent for Supreme Court justice.

They believe that anything they want, they should get. No questions asked. No one will dare to speak against them.

6. Oh good grief
If I fucked up on my open book exam I know I wouldn't have gotten another chance. Good grief! And she's qualified how?

8. could this be a rovian plot, intended to confuse and grab attention
while the skunks try to avoid being indicted?

No. I don't see that kind of subtlety in this White House. They prefer the hammer and threats, not quiet, behind the scenes set-ups.

It is clear that she is way, way way out of her league. And considering that she is one of his closest advisors, it explains why so many of his decision are just plain wrong.

9. I think this is yet another sign of a whitehouse in turmoil.

If rove and his henchmen were tending to business, Ms. Miers would have had professional help with this questionaire, and every answer would have been vetted before it went back to the senate. Of course, with a competent nominee, it wouldn't have needed any more than a little political tweaking.

To quote a Tom Lehrer song
"She danced around the funeral pyre" - that's me celebrating!

Remember that old song? How many roads. . . (i could never remember the other words)

We should write new words -

How many hits can ole Harry take, before she calls it a day?

Bush just said that not being a judge brings a fresh outlook to the bench.
He is even defending her answers to the questionaire! what a tool.
