Chris Matthews advertising tonite's show as "Now that CIA leak story OVER"
"Over"? Does he know something that we do not? It was strange the way it was advertised? Matt Cooper will be on to discuss how much higher this goes, the Hardball ad says. Has Chris heard something?

Also, I noticed another link about the media connections to the lies leading up to and during the war. Wasn't Matthews more or less against this war from the beginning?? Although with his ambiguity, one could never know.

1. What disturbs me
is that Chris gets his talking points directly from the WH and the "spin" they're putting on it is that "it's over!".

Either that or he's inept in doing "promos"...which is possible.

4. Maybe it's because of what's developing on Rawstory
Looks like Mioers gave false information to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

It would be terrible.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tweety got some bullshit line from someboyd in the White House, though.

I keep damning myself to Hell every time I tune in and swear I'll never do it again only to repeat the behavior. :banghead:

Occasionally, lucidity shows on his expression with the realization he willingly swallowed the WH spin hook, line, sinker and pole.

Perhaps you're overreading. Maybe all that's meant is that the investigation part is over. Otherwise, Cooper would be on to talk about nothing, not about how much higher it goes.

No?

24. it's something stupid and incompetent -- like them assuming on
Tuesday the story would break on Wednesday, one way or the other, and they rushed the promo just in case. Nothing about that on their web site. I would not panic quite yet -- even though we are very skillful -- and understandably so -- at that :)

28. What? Me Panic?
Channeling Alfred E Neumann. I guess my point was that we may be reading too much into that one sentence, because if it was over, there would be no reason to have Matt Cooper on. So, clearly they don't think it's over.

16. Yes, completely over!
1) Bush was pretty miffed with Karl, but he understands that Turdy was just tryin' ta help.

2) Bush assures us that the investigation is "just background noise."

3) Tweety says so.

Thing is, why would they even think this would work? Have they cut a deal with Fitz? Made him an offer he can't refuse? Gonna fire him?

I wish the guy would pull the trigger already.

Edited on Thu Oct-20-05 10:47 AM by Marr
All his coverage was giving neocons time to make their arguments without rebuttals of any sort. He promoted the WMD bullshit, he went on about drones and the 50 foot Hussein, etc., etc.- the whole nine yards.

The jackass has been repeating that "against it from the beginning" bullshit since it became safe to do so. Since opposition became the popular stance, that is. Matthews is a little twerp.

40. Pat Buchanan: my guess is that there are multiple indictments coming

for lying to investigators, perjury, obstruction of justice, and disclosure of national security secrets for political purposes. And maybe conspiracy.

48. More interesting Buchanan snips:
<snip>

My own sense, from hearing and reading about Fitzgerald is that he may be going after much larger game, that he may have what Bob Bennett calls a "big case," that he may be going after the White House and WHIG for fabricating the case for war, that he is roaming afield, looking into who forged the Niger documents and passed them on to U.S. intelligence and whether the case for war was shot through with deceit and lies. (But if lying us into war is a crime, we would have to have a second look at that FDR memorial on the trail to Haynes Point.)

An interesting question is whether Fitzgerald is now working with McNulty, who got Larry Franklin to plead and is now going after AIPAC and the Israelis and has the fruits of five years of FBI investigations going back into the 1990s. Are the two Irish prosecutors collaborating?

41. Tweety last night: there will be indictments, said bravely
to blond *bouffant hair styled repug hack- who in the past had been loud, aggressive and sarcastically interrupted every liberal who faced him and tweety loved it.

Now, the pink, chubby, repug hamster is more docile and tweety boldly told him his little tweety analysis: there will be indictments! Wow. Brave little canary...

* what's up with the 70's style, retro, blow dryed, helmet style repug hair cut- parted on the left, combed over to the right, they look like Ken dolls from the 70's.

The women all have big Kay Bailey Hutchison hair.

Yo can spot a repug by the amount of hair styling product they use..I always say. Their hair reveals much..they live in the pre-Raygun, beach blanket bingo days, of the early 70's.
