Governor wary of federal assistance

FORT MYERS — Governor Bush visited went to Washington, D.C. today in an effort to keep Florida’s natural disaster plan out of the hands of the federal government.

Florida has an extensive resume with handling natural disasters. If Wilma hits our coast, it will be the eighth hurricane to hit the state over the last 14 months.

With every hurricane, Florida's emergency plan changes.

"We have pet shelters now because we heard from our citizens that they won't leave unless there was a place to take their beloved pet as well, so those will be activated probably tomorrow, Bush told the Homeland Security Committee.

1. No, no, NO!!! He is following the Chertoff playbook!!!

Chertoff does not want FEMA involved in any aspect of planning for natural disasters. He wants the states to do ALL the planning. Why? It is a big moneysaver. Why is it stupid? How can one help, if one does not know the protocols?

Jeb is carrying water for BushCo, while APPEARING to be an independent, states-rights type. He knows damn well that if any of his plans fall through the crack, big bro will bail his ass out.
