Change the merlot to shiraz (I'm allergic to merlot -- go fig) and set an extra place.
On edit -- I'll bring a bottle of my favorite rum and 2 Romeo y Julieta Churchills for later!

Pusser's Rum, the only rum served to Her Majesty's Royal Navy for over 300 years -- still made in the same wooden stills used when Nelson himself drank the stuff.
If you can find it, get it -- a close to single malt scotch as rum can come.

I haven't decided yet on Fitzmas dinner....
I thought about doing a fine, fine t-bone on the grill but if the indictments happen on Monday, well, we're expecting snow and sleet so that would be a bit uncomfortable.
Maybe stuffed flank steak (stuffed with mushroom and herb crouton stuffing) asparagas with hollandaise sauce, twice baked potato with carmelized onion topping.
Merlot
Orange sherbert
Brandy
and, against my Doctor's advice, a big ugly Dominican cigar!

these days after supporting so many progressive causes)
I will start out with the roasted beets w skortakalia then proceed with a fine vegetarian pasta dish, accompanied by a bottle of Pelligrino and Terre de Tufi. I might even attempt to save room for a Valcheron Glace! I will end the evening with a cappucino + biscotti (so I can stay awake and read DU) while mod hubby sips on a fine grappa.
