Harriet Liars FORGOT another position (which she held for 20 YEARS) Oopsie
Miers' slip-ups raise new questions

WASHINGTON BUREAU

October 19, 2005

WASHINGTON -- Responding to written Senate questions yesterday, Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers failed to list among her former business activities her role as a board member and investor in a for-profit human resources firm formed with her evangelical Christian church's minister and his wife.

snip...

Miers' omission of Priority Enterprises of New Carrollton, Texas, is notable because she lists it on the financial disclosure forms she filed as a White House official in 2001 and for her public positions in Texas during the 1990s.

Miers was a board member with a beneficial interest in the firm since it was incorporated in June 1979 until 1999, according to her forms and Texas state corporations records.

1. Harriet Liars! I like that!
And for goodness sake...this woman needs to withdraw now. This isn't even funny anymore.

4. Oh good grief
This is so pathetic. Who ever votes for Miers is really pathetic.

2. Unreal
What on earth could she have been thinking (or not) when she responded to the Senate committee's questions? It would be laughable if it didn't seem downright dishonest.

5. I'll tell you what she was thinking
Her arrogant mentor told her she doesn't have to answer any of these stupid questions if she doesn't want to.

7. I agree that you're probably right
But I still can't fathom being as sloppy and evasive as she was on this.

8. She has not been successful on account of being smart.
She is successful because she can be counted on to kiss the butts of the Bush dynasty. Perhaps I am stating the obvious here, but that is specifically THE ONLY reason she has been nominated. Dubya is counting on her to help perpetuate the regieme. Republicans know this and many of them don't like it.

11. Yes! He lauded her "attention to detail", which is evidently on par with
HIS attention to detail: there ain't none.

I think they're drinkin' buddies.

6. With THIS administration, I'm more shocked when someone tells...
...the truth than when they lie. They have absolutely NO credibility. I already expect everything that comes out of a BushCo mouth to be a total and complete lie. And I'm almost never wrong.

A sad place our country has decended to.

9. I say she steps down...
... before providing the next set of answers...

Surely she can't have anything more to add.

13. Not only did she forget to pay her DC Bar Association dues but
she also forgot to pay her Texas Bar Association dues. If she wasn't such a good Christian woman, i would wonder if maybe she was spending alot at another Bar. :sarcasm:
