Has Bush Been Stopped Dead In His Tracks?
What new and appalling new initiatives has he unleashed on us lately?

I think he is now the lamest duck we have ever seen. 3 years to go in his presidency and the asswipe couldn't get a tax cut passed let alone continue with the rape of the working man and woman.

What do you think, is the filthy beast Bush dead in the ashes of his own shame or will he rise up again to terrorize at home and abroad?

1. People are pissed that he wants to take away our mortage...
...deduction...

First Social Security (he wants to take it away)
Then Bankruptcy... "fuck you if you are wounded in Iraq" no bankruptcy for you if you can't work.

Now the mortgage deduction on our taxes this asshole wants to take away. Yet the super rich gets to keep their tax-cuts and screw the rest of.

2. I'm afraid our wingnut Congress is still moving, however...
rolling back progress since the New Deal.

4. I agree. I think he's finally stepped so far over the line that no one...
...is listening anymore. Unfortunately, there are still some losers in Congress who share his agenda and are still trying to steal from the poor and give to the rich.

However, we're in a better position than we have been to block them (assuming our Dems will actually attempt to block them).

13. The Dem's in Congress today were replaying an old Reagan era saying
today - "Take from the needy and give to the greedy". If we can successfully get that message out there, on the lips of the guys pumping expensive gas into expensive cars and paying for it with high rate credit cards, then we have a chance to get them to rise up and demand some transparency ... and blivet's** removal. Hearing demands from their own districts can be very good!

If he just cowers at his so-called ranch the rest of the years he stole from us, OK. Let him just stay there and let responsible people try to heal the country in spite of him.

7. He is a lame duck alright
but for his trip to Beverly Hills today, a huge portion of the 405 will be shut down. The hours? Yep, from 4:00 to 8:00. Just when thousands need to get home from work. I say the bastard did this on purpose, absolutely. I wish someone would have made him reschedule his arrival.

11. Busy
How can you say that. He and his jackal minions are trying to cut $50B from social spending, they're attempting to overhaul the tax system in such a way as to adversely affect wage earners and rumors are flying that our troops invaded Syria last week!!!!! I'd say Bush has been a busy boy.

14. he can still get a supreme court nominee in
he might even manage to get this crazy crony miers in. but even if he can't get THAT ridiculous choice through, he can still get his choice of any of a number of more credentialed neo-con bastards.

plus he can do with the army what he wants.

besides, we've got a republican congress. it's not like they NEED him to get anything done, and it's not like he's going to veto anything that comes out of a banana republican congress.

In fact, I think he will have trouble getting his parking ticket validated.

One can only hope, anyway,

16. Maybe, just maybe
I don't think he'd be able to tolerate disapproval on the scale that currently exists. Not for 3 more years. He had to create an atmosphere where dissent and opposition wasn't allowed because that's his comfort zone. He not only lacks the skills of persuasiveness and compromise, on some deep level he doesn't believe he should have to be questioned or explain himself.

Now he's created a situation where he screwed up so much that people are finally free to criticize him openly and it's far too late to shut that barn door. Even another major terror attack won't help him, people will just assume it's one more disaster that happened because of his incompetence.

I think he'll suffer from some kind of serious mental breakdown long before the 3 years are up. He's just not temperamentally equipped for not getting his way.

17. Lame duck's Secy of State says in today's paper not ruling out attacks on
Syria and Iran. She says she wouldn't circumscribe the president's war powers...but fails to mention Congress' role in any new 'adventures' in the Middle East or elsewhere.

Lameduck, but still capable of much more foolishness.

18. remember Reagan was going to get snowed in an avalanche of
lawsuits and scandals: Iran Contra, S&L, Inslaw and the Justice Dept. He not only survived with both houses of Congress being Democrat controlled, but his VP won in 88, he got an airport named after him and has since been known as the Great Communicator. Hitler and Napolean were great communicators too.

You gotta get a blow job to get booted.

19. No, he is screwed now, thank God.
Unless Iran really does launch some kind of attack - there is NO WAY our congress will approve of such non sense now. They are, after all, up for re-election next year - he gets no "wag the dog" here.

Too late. I think we will survive this til the next election - or impeachment. He has no army to send, in any event.

Joe
