A lot of people are saying that Rove threw Scooter under the bus. I thought that too when I first read the article, but it appears I fell for Luskin's spin.
Here's an interesting quote:
<snip>
They said Rove testified that his discussions with Libby before Plame's CIA cover was blown
were limited to information reporters had passed to them. Some evidence prosecutors have gathered conflicts with Libby's account.http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/10/20/cia.leak.investigation.ap/index.html?section=cnn_latestBasically if Rove were to rat out Scooter by saying he heard it from him, he would essentially be incriminating himself because he went ahead and told Matt Cooper about information that he knew was classified. But Rove is claiming that Libby was recounting a conversation he HEARD from a journalist. Rove can't rat out Scooter! As Scooter would say, their roots are connected!
