BLM bypasses drilling studies
WASHINGTON -- In an aggressive push by the Bush administration to open more public land to oil and gas production, the Interior Department has quit conducting environmental reviews and seeking comment from local residents every time drilling companies propose new wells.
The issue is of particular interest in Wyoming, where more than half of the 6,052 drilling permits approved across the nation last year by the Bureau of Land Management were issued.[/quote

yes, it's ripe for a lawsuit. A judge recently overturned the Bush admins last attempt at this in the "healthy forests act". You should of seen how the Bush admin reacted to that.
