READ THIS about Fitzgerald!
From the Rude Pundit, http://rudepundit.blogspot.com/2005/10/jesuit-in-mix-heres-e-mail-rude-pundit.html
Here's an e-mail the Rude Pundit received yesterday from Boring Diatribe:
" Fitzgerald is 44, making him 4 years older than me, so we didn't overlap at the Jesuit high school we both attended in NYC, where we both grew up, but I can tell you a couple of things about our education:

"Regis is a 500 student high school for gifted boys. There's an entrance exam. There's an interview. There's an interview for the parents, separately, and the bad apple students are steadily weeded out over 4 years, though admissions mistakes only hover around 1-4%. Rejected students are those who can't excel in a rigorous program that at that time included 3 mandatory years of Latin and the kind of debates that are rarely seen beyond Lincoln-Douglas re-enactments.

"Have you ever looked into the eyes of Jesuits? Look long enough, and you can see the heretics burning back there. Back then, they still imparted that zeal to their students, if pointed in more helpful directions.

"When I heard Fitzgerald went to Regis, I knew Rove and the boys were in a lot of trouble. Rest assured, if there's a crime, Patrick's going to find it, and he will prosecute. At the time I attended, Regis was designed to turn out moral (in the true sense) men who would become impeccable professionals or even captains of industry. I think Fitzgerald's route is obvious.

4. The "gifted" are known for a sense of fairness to all
That is one of the criteria for being gifted. With extreme intelligence and IQ, the gifted seemingly intuitively know who the needy are and that they should be cared for. Being gifted might be tagged as caring for those less fortunate and having the guts and intelligence to do something about it. This has to scare the greedy and shallow GOP to death.

5. Thanks for the post. I think Rude Pundit is telling the truth.
Schools like that, I suspect, are gone now, but they did exist. I also went to a HS where 3 yeas of latin were required. There were also many others like Biology, Chemistry, Algebra, Geometry, and CIVICS CLASS! I wonder just how many HS students HAVE to take all those classes now?

I'm very impressed with Fitz. He's the ONLY atty in Wash. DC who doesn't leak to the media! He takes his job very seriously. And no matter what the outcome of this investigation is, even if he doesn't file any indictments, I believe he did his best, and it's because he didn't believe he could prove his case in court.

HOWEVER!!!! I believe he is going to issue indictments, and that will be just the beginning!

10. That was a big sign to me anyways
He's serious about this job because he hasn't leaked anything out while Rove's lawyer chatted away in the beginning. Fitzgerald isn't Ken Starr. No way!

7. It sounds like he'd make a superb AG or SCOTUS justice.
Non-political, non-ideological, answers only to the law.
That's the type of person I'd be looking for in those key positions.

11. I would love that!
I hope the next democratic administration can appoint a justice and appoints him! *sigh* He's so brilliant. So much better than Harriet Miers that's for sure!!

12. Fitzgerald makes Ken Starr look like a cheap grandstanding circus barker
I am so impressed with the way Fitzgerald just goes about his business. He doesn't see this investigation as his moment in the sun; he sees it as his civic duty to get to the truth of the matter. The man has a mind like a steel trap, and I think it's already caught Rove and Libby, who are now desperately chewing each other's legs in a pathetic attempt to escape.

I truly believe that if there is any motto which would serve him well, it would be, "Let justice be done, though the heavens may fall."
