A random thought....
If you think of all the horrible things that have happened throughout history would you change them if you could? Myself for example half of my family comes from Mexico, which primarily consists of people of both Spanish and Indegenous origin. If the Spanish had never came over to conquer the majority of the Americas then an entire race of people would have never existed. While no one can doubt slavery is one of our greatest sins, Black people who exist today in the U.S. in most cases would have never existed. This is what kind of thoughts pop into my head at 11:39 when i should be sleeping.

2. No seriously...
think about it though. The Spanish never come over, and Mexico as we know it and basically the majority of the people in it no longer exist.

3. Hmmm
You make a point. Something I'll have to think about. My ancestry is Wales and I wonder how I would've fared if my folks didn't come here. Interesting intellectual exercise.

4. Exactly
If the Europeans had never come over here a large portion of us would never have existed.

8. i think
you would still exist if you wanted to just probably not in the form you reside in now. we choose our existence and the forms and lives we take wheter we are concious of it or not. Do i wish the europeans had come over here...not really. I think the native Americans were on to a lot of good things over here. I mean the mayans basically came up with the current calendar system we use today. Use the flipside of the coin and think what would've been possible had they not come over?

BTW.....conquered probably isn't the word i'd use. More like mass genocide.

10. hmm..
I was under the impression that we used a Roman calander but I could be mistaken. Even if we hadn't come over whose to say that repression of some form would not have existed here? Let's not forget that many of the people who helped Hernan Cortez were rival tribes.

14. Whites coming here was inevitable...
There was no stopping it. It's what they did that was unconscionable.

up. no complaining about america because that is an insult to god. god made slavery so they would be able to be in america otherwise there would be no blacks here

odd kinda argument i thought seeing how slavery was invented? by god long before blacks were shipped to the america's

if blacks hadnt been shipped to america for slaves, i am sure they would have found there way on their own. and maybe blacks wouldnt have all the slavery bullshit on their shoulders and would have fit in much more comfortably and resolutely than they did after slavery. further i think you will find that blacks did come from haiti and carribeans and settled in louisanna, not as slaves.

15. romans names yes
but iwas referring the the actual times keeping if i am correct which could always be wrong i thought the leap year was added after looking over mayan calculations. Even then most roman culture is bastardized greek culture.

Same could be said of african slaves were mostly sold to europeans after one tribe conquered another. Of course slaves according to most tribal laws were different. Your children were born free from my understanding.

17. The greater good is never served by the subjugation of other humans.
No one person's existence, no matter how noble or how great it may be, can serve as justification for the atrocities of his or her ancestors. The ends does not justify the means.

Perhaps if the blacks had stayed in Africa instead of being dragged unwillingly to America, apartheid might have been nipped in the bud. Perhaps things would have been much worse. The point being, their destiny would have been in their hands, instead of their hands being chained by profiteering white men (and some colluding blacks in Africa, too, I'm aware of that).

Would I change all the horrible things if I could? Yes, absolutely, even if in the end it resulted in my own annihilation.
