in great detail and in public without the help of those he pardoned. I don't think that's something Bush or even Scotty could handle. He might find it less "hard work" to just let them fry.

Of course that's assuming Bush doesn't get nailed himself.

2. One problem with that thought...
Bush doesn't have to explain anything because he's not running for reelection.

He can prety much do what he wants. The next Repub drone can make an issue of the fact that "he's not Bush" and none of it will matter.

5. I think the public outcry would force him to defend his actions
And the media would be out for blood. It would not be pretty.

9. And????
He'd lose the next election.

Oh, wait. He's not RUNNING in the next election...

Hell, his numbers are at 38-39% now. He's still running things. If they dropped to 1% he'd STILL be running things. See my point?

3. If Bush hands out pardons he'll be impeached.
Edited on Fri Oct-21-05 01:18 AM by longship
Today was the 32nd anniversary of the Saturday Night Massacre. Nixon fired the independent Watergate prosecutor and that evening 50,000 telegrams hit Congress demanding his impeachment, a record at that time.

If that stupid Chimp tries to pardon his own criminal staff, people would not like it. It's a clear abuse of power. He'd bring the roof down on himself.

4. I think he WILL pardon them before he lets it go to trial.
I believe Bush will pardon the lot of them before he allows Rove to be tried.

I don't think he has to provide any detail.

8. I think that maybe Fitgerald has entertained this commonly held
belief. Maybe he is fixing it so the criminals will not get off scott free.

10. Final Presidential pardons
don't bear any scrutiny.

Marc Rich was pardoned, and he made a mockery of capitalism.

11. at some point, they will HAVE to talk about it........
........when Fitzgerald makes his move, they won't have a reason NOT to talk about it! And this is such a big story, no one is going to forget about it.........anytime soon, that is.

It's like after Katrina, they said 'now is not the time for finger pointing'. And Anderson Cooper responded, 'if now isn't the time, when is the time? Because I'll be glad to come back later!'

This is the same thing.........no one is going to forget to come back later for answers..........

12. Why? He Never Has Before
Before the ink is dry on the pardons, Karl Rove
will be back on the phone to the network honchos and
demand that they return to the usual fawning coverage of Dear Leader:

With no more threat of prison for KKKarl, they will fall into line, of course.
Then all the talking hedz will be blathering about how
America wants to "put it all behind us" and "support our pResident".
We all know the drill by now. :puke::puke:
