But it must be noted that Starr and Ray found insufficient evidence either Clinton had committed any crime in connection with the failed real estate venture or the independent counsel's investigation into it.

GWHB: involved in Iran-Contra (money), Franklin coverup (sex -- but should be noted this involves pedophilia not consensual relations among adults)

Reagan: Iran-Contra ($$$$$$$$$$$)

Carter: While president...not much of anything except maybe a botched attempt to rescue American hostages in Iran. Fairly recently implicated in UN Oil for Food scandal. *rolling eyes* Give me a break!

Ford: Can't really come up with anything. -- ETA: pardoning Nixon. I agree with no_hypocrisy. It may not have threatened his administration but it's scandalous. Certainly controversial.

Nixon: Watergate (power)

Johnson: Gay sex scandal

Kennedy: Rumors of sexual impropriety


I think with this track record I'll take Democrats with active libidos over greedy power-grubby Republicans any time. I feel safer with leaders who get screwed rather than those who screw the people they lead.
