Scott Ritter on "Democracy Now" today!
Great interview that sums up exactly how the government manipulated the American people and viciously attacked Ritter prior to the invasion of Iraq. Amy Goodman also has a clip of Seymour Hersh and Ritter speaking to an audience earlier this month. Hersh wrote the introduction to his new book, "Iraq Confidential: The Untold Story of the Intelligence Conspiracy to Undermine the UN and Overthrow Saddam Hussein.".

Ritter predicts we will attack Iran next, the speech has already been written for Bolton to present to the UN. ":scared:

10. He said the CIA knew the WMD had been destroyed and kept it secret
Ritter said the lie was initially stated by George H.W. Bush about Iraq's retention of its WMD and the lie was continued right through the Clinton and Chimp administrations.

He didn't go far enough, in my opinion. Not only did the CIA know that the WMD had been destroyed and kept this secret, but the CIA knew that the U.S. military itself had destroyed much of the WMD at the end of the First Gulf War through teams of special ops sent deep into Iraq. The CIA admitted only one instance of this in its 1997 White Paper "Khamisiyah: An Historical Perspective On Related Intelligence". The CIA kept this secret about our destruction of Saddam's WMD because (1) we didn't want to admit we had gassed our own people with sarin gas contained in the warheads we destroyed because our government wanted to avoid liability for Gulf War Syndrome suffered by returning vets and (2) we didn't want to admit that we knew about Saddam's WMD stockpile because private U.S. companies had sold this technology to Saddam through export licenses granted under Reagan and Bush by the U.S. Department of Commerce.
