Only Judges who live under rocks would be safe from this scrutiny.

Mr. Schraub received his LLB degree from St. Mary's University School of Law and his licensure as an attorney in 1954. Mr. Schraub has had a long and distinguished career in public life. He served as judge in the 25th Judicial District for twenty years and as judge in the 3rd Administrative Judicial Region since 1990. He is the recipient of the 1992 Outstanding Jurist Award presented by the Texas Bar Foundation. He served on the Board of Directors of the National Judicial College from 1992 through 1998, and in 1998, was chosen Chair-Emeritus of the Board of Trustees of that institution. He is a member of the Guadalupe County Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, and is Past President of the South Central Texas Bar Association. He has served and continues to serve on a number of civic organizations and associations dealing with legal and judicial professions.

16. That's exactly what should happen, but won't. EXCEPT, |
|
remember the FL. repub "activist fundamentalist judge" who ruled in the Schiavo case? He ruled against the wackos. Maybe the Texas machine will take this bastard down. We can hope. I don't care WHO they appoint to this case, he/she will have donated to SOMEONE in politics...Dem or repuke...maybe Nader? Perot? This could go on forever. I thought Tommy boy wanted this over by Thanksgiving?

a "real" judge. I hope they do not change venues. Texas is Texas and it could be held in any county. No wonder Tom has been smiling.

17. A Republican area would not guarantee a Republican jury. |
|
Same for a Democratic area. You get a mix no matter where you go. A rural or suburban county might be more conservative. There again, with the mood in the nation, you can't tell. As for the judge, it doesn't look good. But, in California, at least, certain judges have bad reputations. Lawyers who get them tend to request a different judge, so the judges with the bad reputations have fewer cases and are available to take the cases that are transferred out of other courts. That means that the lawyer who requests a different judge is likely to get a worse than. Cases just get moved from one unpopular judge to another. It's pretty pointless to request a new judge. Many judges are pro-prosecutor.

as I know that all contributions I have made are not on opensecrets but that is probably just because they are smaller in nature.

9. DeLay's Strategy Is Working - Anytime The Media Reports On... |
|
his indictments they say something to the effect that Ronnie Earle is a Democrat, or its politically motivated, etc. So DeLay gets his message repeated multiple times so the Sheeple start believing it.

14. I don't think that is DUers point in researching this and pointing this ou |
|
the point is Delay doesn't want an "Independent" judge. Judges have every right to be partisan but in their occupation they are to rule with objectivity.
Delay is claiming that the current judge cannot because he gave money to a democratic organization. I like that the judge said that he would pass it on to his superior because if his superior rules in favor of Delay his superior knows that his ruling would also be questioned because of his past contributions.
I love it.
When you're six feet deep in crap, you can dress it up all you want but it is still 6 feet of crap!

He can't lose by taking a partisan Republican stance because Texas is solidly Republican (at the moment).
