A smile and a winning ticket. Coincidence?
Another unbiased reporting piece from AP about how Delay's smiling mugshot will take the bite out of Democratic attack ads.

"He looks in the photo like a proud member of Congress who might just have won the lottery, not one indicted on charges of money laundering."

In an unrelated story, a proud member of Congress recently DID win the lottery.

Coincidence? Maybe... :tinfoilhat:

6. It's only appropriate that lottery winnings go to the rich.
They deserve it and will use it to create jobs. :sarcasm:

2. I think AP is wrong. The smiling mugshot of Delay makes him look...
like he's saying 'I can get away with anything', even being a criminal, because I'm a member of Congress. It might just backfire on him.

3. I agree with AP....
one of the best things you can have in your arsenal when you go after someone, say, in an election, is an unflattering photo of any kind that's on the public record, and hence, useable in mass literature printings -- and nothing is more dynamite than your typical dull-eyed grim police mugshot. This would have been a nugget of gold had it been a shot that conveyed "criminal" -- but it doesn't and that's too bad. It's certainly not a big deal but a small opportunity that didn't work out. The proof: no Dem will EVER use this photo in attacking DeLay. Bet on it. The AP piece is not biased -- I would have written the same if asked.
