Don't they realize that what they are doing is affecting everyone's psyche in a way that backfires on them? The more alerts, the more tire the regular citizen is going to get and his/her desire to go back to normal will be associated with change of admin.

If a real attack were to happen (which I do not wish for), all that it'll do is verify that, as Katrina showed, this admin is worst prepared to handle any disaster or attack than anyone before it and that * hasn't really done anything to protect us.

because I don't trust them to know if/when an ACTUAL TERROR ATTACK might happen, and I have full confidence there there are folks out there planning, I mean, our gov't provides so much inspiration for terrorists...

And the reason why it used to help their numbers was because people believed they would protect us. But after Katrina, we now know that's not true!

I can't believe this hasn't even occured to them yet!! But I suppose if you have a guy like Chertoff who is head of Homeland Security who acts like they did nothing wrong regarding Katrina, it's not unreasonable to believe these people don't realize the damaging effect Katrina had on this administration and the country too!!

Meanwhile, all the clueless supporters walked into the barn offering themselves willingly to be tagged and gelded. They stand there, smugly believing the Master allowed them into the barn as a sign of favor. And, the unofficial solution to internal woes is always, ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK FEAR FEAR FEAR. It's all they've got, and they can't/won't accept anything new, so they're workin' it for all its worth.
