Senate Nixes Boost in Heating Assistance

do you feel the love?

http://www.guardian.co.uk/worldlatest/story/0,1280,-5358201,00.html

For the second time this month, the Senate voted against putting more money into a program that helps low-income families meet home heating costs.

Senators who opposed the $3.1 billion in emergency money for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program said the aid would be dealt with as part of a larger emergency spending bill that Congress probably will consider soon.

how soon is soon?

old people freezing in their chairs

little kids with snotty noses, bubbly coughs, cranky crying

no money, no health care

the mortician's kids will go to college

start chasing their Reps and Sens down the streets hurling rotten veggies and invectives at them?

4. LIHEAP was first funded in 1982
at close to $2 billion dollars. It's current funding, 23 years later, is a mere $20 million more.

6. Later huh??????
Like....when???? What qualifies as...um...later? When hell freezes over? Knowing Santorum that is when he's planning to vote for it, or if he needs the money.
Who the F**K voted against this???? They need their names posted all over the internet.

8. Thanks Asshole Senators!
I go apply for LIHEAP today. I'm on disability and the payment they make will probably last me thru December, if I'm lucky. After that I'm fucked without a kiss!

We gotta get those pricks out NOW!!!!! Thanks for letting me rant.

9. We still don't have heating oil for this winter. It'll cost us $300 to
get 100 or so gallons (the minimum order amount) and we just don't have it. It was 34 degress out last night and I can tell you this trailer was none to warm this morning. :P Fortunately it's sunny today so we're comfy this afternoon. And I plan on baking meatloaf and potatoes, which will help. (and be very yummy too boot)

10. Do you know...
that on average a gallon of heating oil is 90 cents more that a gallon of regular gasoline, and it is not subject to the federal and state taxes that add up to 75 cents to the price of gas. Here in Northern MN there was an article in our local paper talking about how the price here is more that the rest of the country, and we have the honor of routinly setting records for the COLDEST place in the United States. All I have to say is if Norm Coleman voted against it, I will make it my mission to get that motherfucker out of office.
