Bahamonde: "OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!" (re: Brownie)
Edited on Fri Oct-21-05 12:44 PM by blitzen
The part near the end of Bahamonde's e-mail didn't show up in the national MSM yesterday--it's the funniest and most damning part.

http://www.2theadvocate.com/stories/102105/new_faulted001.shtml

But the e-mails show the staff of the Federal Emergency Management Agency seemed more concerned about getting dinner for Brown in Baton Rouge while Bahamonde was struggling to get food and water for the multitudes in the Superdome.

"It is very important that time is allowed for Mr. Brown to eat dinner," FEMA press secretary Sharon Brown wrote in an e-mail, with misspellings, two days after the storm hit.

"Gievn that Baton Rouge is back to normal, restaurants are getting busy. He needs much more that 20 or 30 minutes. We now have traffic to encounter to get to and from a location of his choise, followed by the wait service from the restaurant staff, eating etc.," Worthy wrote.

Bahamonde responded "OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!" in an e-mail to another FEMA staffer, adding that he had just finished eating a packaged meal-ready-to-eat along with thousands of others in the Superdome.

"Maybe tonight I will have time to move the pebbles on the parking garage floor so they don't stab me in the back while I try to sleep," Bahamonde wrote. "I will hope her wait at Ruth Chris is short."

Edited to add verbatim text (following Pirate Smile's post):
"OH MY GOD!!!!!!!! No won't go any further, too easy of a target. Just tell her that I just ate an MRE and crapped in the hallway of the Superdome along with 30,000 other close friends so I understand her concern about busy restaurants. Maybe tonight I will have time to move my pebbles on the parking garage floor so they don't stab me in the back while I try to sleep.

2. Just when you think it can't get any more insane - it does
sweet Jesus on a stick what the living hell is wrong with these people? It's like important parts of their brains have been removed and replaced by old rags.

Oh god I wish we had seen that e-mail before Mr. Brown came to DC to testify. It would have been worth the price of admission to see Brown try and explain that one.

And what the hell is it with these people and eating anyway? they seem obsessed.

10. Negligent Homicide
"Unintentional killing(s)in which the actor(s) should have known they were creating substantial and unjustified risks of death by conduct that grossly deviated from ordinary care."

If that is not what michael brown did during katrina on his watch I don't know what is.

BROWN - NEGLIGENT HOMICIDE - SPREAD THE WORD.

Add chertoff's recent testimony and he's nothing but guilty.

11. Good -he should be - all that whining about the city and the state
he did while this madness was going on. Really this is bark at the moon, come for people with the nets crazy - god in heaven when the major southern port in the united states is underwater and thousands of people are trapped in a sports arena without power or running water and millions of people have been displaced from their homes the most important thing is not that you get a nice dinner at a good restaurant - christ you can have sandwiches brought in you know. We do that in New York all the time when we're just trying to get some meaningless business project out the door on time. Never mind a real emergency.

It's the absolute and utter disconnect of these people that is so bloody jaw dropping. what the hell was going on in their minds? What the hell did they think was going on?

sorry I'm just speechless again.

8. That doesn't even include the MOST descriptive part of the e-mail.
"Sharon Worthy, Brown's press secretary, to Cindy Taylor, FEMA deputy director of public affairs, and others, Aug. 31, 2 p.m.

"Also, it is very important that time is allowed for Mr. Brown to eat dinner. Gievn (sic) that Baton Rouge is back to normal, restaurants are getting busy. He needs much more that (sic) 20 or 30 minutes. We now have traffic to encounter to get to and from a location of his choise (sic), followed by wait service from the restaurant staff, eating, etc.

_Bahamonde to Taylor and Michael Widomski, public affairs, Aug. 31, 2:44 p.m.
