2. In the top of the news...

Retailers nationwide are reporting that unanticipated large sales of certain items has made them very scarce on shelves. There is no explanation for sudden demand for such diverse collection of products.

Pop Corn
Champagne, especially Tattinger
Mint leaves, especially fresh mint leaves
Jim Beam
Whole turkeys
Duncan Hines and Betty Crocker Extra Moist Yellow Cake Mix

Prices on pop corn has tripled this week alone. Yellow cake mixes are difficult to find nationwide. The Tattinger spokesperson has said that they will not be able to keep up with demand and that this year's product may become one of the most valuable in their history. Not normally a turkey season, turkey farms are not equipped to accomodate such unusual October demands. Strangely, fresh mint is also virtually unavailable. Jim Beam distilleries reports that the increased sales is unprecedented but they anticipate no problems meeting demands.

I guess it's all a mystery we will have to ponder.
