The MSM TV shows (especially ones like "Hardball)are just venues for hacks to go out and repeat lies and distortions over and over.

That ALL that they're good for- and in fact, that appears to be their main purpose these days- all propaganda all of the time. The stuff is demeaning, and the more anyone watches it the more they'll get sucked in- if only in subtle ways like buying into their framing of issues.

Paul Krugman learned that the hard way last year. He just ended up cannon fodder for O'Reilly and the far right echo machines. There's no reasoning with people who have no regard for the truth. What are you supposed to do? Fact check everything while they're yelling and interrupting you?

The only people who ought to appear on shows like that are people who are willing to stoop to their level and be equally overbearing, rude and insulting.

That's what passes for "winning" a debate among the majority of those shows' audiences.
