With all the recent chatter on DU, I'm just wondering if Feinstein is facing a challenger in the Democratic primary.

1. The argument is "We shouldn't be attacking our own Dems."

Think about it. The argument I see most often is that we shouldn't be running candidates against fellow Democrats because it would just make the Party weaker as it would be an internal power struggle at a time when the Republicans are at their most powerful and that what is needed at this time is "party unity," not more in-fighting.

Do you accept that argument?

2. I can't believe any halfway serious politico would take her on....
She's the most popular elected official in California (unlike her rep on DU) and is loaded. Why fight an expensive battle you're guaranteed to lose?

3. Some are convinced that DiFi's a Repug in disguise
Cindy Sheehan just called her a "Republican white man in a dress."

The fact that DiFi signed off on the Iraqi occupation doesn't help.

She's vulnerable. I'm not saying it'll be easy to defeat her in the primaries, but she is vulnerable.

4. It depends on what is more important....

fighting the Republicans as a party, or fighting those in government who support war. If being against war is more important, then there might be a few other DLC dems to look at as well.

5. She has name recognition; it's what makes her difficult to dislodge with..
another Democratic candidate, who is most likely to be relatively unknown.

7. Not so far, but if someone
more Boxer-like challenged her in the primary, she might well have a tough go of it.

8. We criticize the thugs for their stance that the worst repub
is still better than the best dem. Aren't we better? Can we not demand at least as much from dems as reepers?
