What happens if the Grinch steals Fitzmas? |
|
It could happen.
An hour after the Fitzmas presents are unwrapped, Bush pardons Rove, Libby, Cheney and all other White House officials for any felonies, misdemeanors or traffic offenses they may or may not have committed at any time in the past or the future.
If that happens, what then?

8. Ford pardoned Nixon even though he was never indicted. Bush 42 |
|
pardoned Casper Weinberger before his trial so that incriminating information regarding Iranamuck (Iran-Contra Affair) never saw that light of day.
Also, if I remember correctly, Ford's pardon of Nixon included any and all crimes known or unknown up to the point of his resignation.

10. Yes he can! Ford pardoned Nixon, Bush 41 pardoned Weinberger... |
|
probably every president has pardoned people who weren't convicted.

"Democratic Congress"
Of course, the Republican Congress might be able to save their jobs by engaging in a little Chimpeachment, too!
It looks like win-win-win to me. The only possiblity of loss is if Fitzgerald files no charges against anyone.

I wonder if the uproar here would be louder in that situation or if Fitzgerald brings no indictments.

5. It won't help anything. |

I'm foggy on the legal stuff, so I'm not sure if he even *can* pardon them, but if he can and does, it's still going to get an obscene amount of press.
Especially with Plame now suing the government...
