DeLay Delerium: Hires a "democrat" lawyer, wants Dem judge recused?
WTF???

10-21) 09:04 PDT Austin, Texas (AP) --

Rep. Tom DeLay appeared in court Friday for the first time since his indictment, but his arraignment on conspiracy and money laundering charges was delayed pending a hearing on his request for a new judge in the politically charged case.

DeLay's lawyer is a Dem
By Alexander Bolton

To help clear his name and regain his standing in the House Republican leadership, former Majority Leader Tom DeLay (Texas) has turned to a longtime Democrat who has contributed to his political opponents.

Dick DeGuerin will defend DeLay as lead council and lead trial lawyer against charges of conspiracy and money laundering brought by Travis County, Texas, District Attorney Ronnie Earle.

1. Poor Tom, it's all a missunderstanding;
Don't they know that screwing people out of money is what made the GOP great.

3. Just Say "Tubelcaine" to the Judge
That's all it took to dismiss a court case on one episode of the old NBC show "NewsRadio". Perhaps Tommy Boy has gotten stuck with a judge who never watched that sitcom.

6. DeLay is a typical arrogant fuck. Even in the face of serious legal
trouble, his arrogance blinds him from the truth.

9. Tom Delay hires a Dem lawyer?
This smacks of a racist hiring a black attorney or an antisemite hiring a Jewish lawyer. both are in effect saying, "See, I don't hate blacks/Jews. I hired one as my defense attorney."
