did acknowledge after the speech that she F'd up royally. At least that is what she said, like she cares and is going to loose sleep over trying to sell this crap. In fact the whole speech in its self is a sham.

We know the game here...Get the Lie out and get it repeated....then retract later, when everybody is on to something else....kind of the way we got into Iraq.

I can't wait to get this administration outta there so we can regain some credibility in the world.
It's not a new lie everyday, it's a new fuck-up everyday.

This here's just plain ignorance. Let's see, Hughes knows two things 1. Saddam gassed Iraqis 2. About 300,000 people died during his regime. No problem, but then, she goes a step further to the "logical conclusion" that 3. Saddam gassed 300,000 Iraqis during his regime.
This line of "reasoning" speaks volumes about what is wrong with this regime. Sometimes they lie out of deception, but many times they lie because they are just plain stupid! (My personal favorite is when they lie out of reflex, because telling the truth is just so alien to them).
It also strikes me as typical of this administration that someone could get appointed "U.S. undersecretary for public diplomacy" to sell the Iraq Occupation to the worldwide Muslim community (and the idea that selling this to them is also just plain stupid) without even studying the most rudimentary facts about Iraq, the history of the saddam Baathist regime, or probably anything else. How supremely fucking arrogant, to think that you can just go to conduct public diplomacy in a foreign country and "wing it."

10. So she lied, got called on it, repeated the lie |
|
Then later cravenly sent her mouthpiece out to say that she "misspoke." No, she LIED. It's a very simple concept. If a person misspeaks and is corrected, then that person accepts the correction. If a person misspeaks and sticks to it, even when challenged, then the utterance passes over misspeaking into the realm of a lie. And when the person can't even admit her own lie as publicly as she made the lie, then she's a gutless little coward, and it's no wonder she's thought of so highly by the corrupt Bush administration.

in every dimension. Are they trying to prep her for Secy of State if Condi gets reassigned? I can only imagine what State Dept. professionals must think of this--let alone Islamic studies professionals. I do not understand why even one penny of my taxes may go to pay this person's salary. We have actual needs in this country and paying K. Ughs (yes, I left the H and e off on purpose) is robbing them of assistance.

She's doing nothing to improve shrub's image worldwide. The error in their thinking is to assume the rest of the world is as stupid as the republican base. Everyone else knows better, and Hughes is wasting her time and making our image worse. :grr:
