Is anybody else concerned about Fitzgerald's safety in the next few days? |
|
With the mafia meeting at Camp David this weekend, I hope Fitz doesn't come down with a sudden dire illness next week that puts him in a coma. And I hope they're doing routine safety checks on the airplane he uses to hop between Chicago and D.C.
Does he have any security guarding him??

They are getting boxed into a corner and are not the sort to lose gracefully. I worry about more that Fitz's safety at this point.

11. I'm very concerned. Assassinate Fitzgerald and start a war for cover? |

Cheney, Libby, Rove, etc are cornered wild animals. I hope precautions are being taken by somebody(spooks) to watch over Fitz.

10. He has staff and the grand jury. |
|
Grand jury issues indictments, not Fitz. And his staff will have the case together as well as he would. Plus, offing a spec. prosecutor probably wouldn't be a very good idea. Tends to piss off other prosecutors, judges, other court officials, etc.

24. No danger. At this point everything is in writing. |
|
But, the big question is, why would the Bush administration sit around and allow one man to bring them down? This could mean that that already know that they are safe. I hope not but fear yes.

27. It's not the 20% like us that worries me |
|
It is b*shco. These are not goody two shoes. Fitz either has some serious protection or else the b*shies have assurances that the family will not be touched. Fitz, who doesn't seem to be stupid, has to know the dangers going in. I hope their are some on the inside (cia, fbi) etc that will provide him with all the cleaning supplies that he needs to clean up this mess. :hide:

31. In the 20%, I wasn't just including us. I include the FReepers |
|
On both sides, I bet the percentage is that low. Its only the extremes who know about him.
The extremes on the left know about Fitz and support him becuase he is our one chance to hold BushCo accountable for their crimes.
And the extreme on the right know about Fitz for the same reason, and they hate him for it.

29. Its not the other 80% of the country that you have to worry about its... |
|
... the Bush Administration. I would not put it past them to hire an assassin, but I think there would be a larger possibility of Scooter getting assassinated rather than Fritz. The finger is being pointed at Scooter. If someone high up is guilty (and we know they are), then why should Scooter take all the blame? If I were him and could nail someone higher in the chain, then I would do anything it takes. Scooter's life is in danger.

30. Well, I suppose, come to think of it |
|
that because he isn't widely known he might be even more at risk. I didn't consider that.
I knew that the original post was reffering to him being in a "plane crash" or some other misfortune.
But I was saying I don't think he is enough of a threat for that to happen, since no one knows who he is.
But, then again, because no one has heard of him, no one would miss him if he were in a plane crash, right?
Right?

I think Fitzgerald would be smart, and informed, enough at this stage to have a fail safe plan in effect. If he's learned nothing else these last two years, he has undoubtably learned how ruthless this gang can be.
