Claim #5: The leaks were simply part of Washington politics as usual, so no crime could have been committed.

That is not what he said tonight, he said Wilson was sent because of an inquiry by Cheney's office, which is true. Wilson never said he was sent by Cheney directly, but he did say Cheney requested more info and that's why he was sent. Matthews actually corrected Black on that tonight.

His guest said she hoped Fitzgerald was investigating Joe Wilson because Joe Wilson lied and Matthews said "yeah".

Now maybe he corrected her later in the segment. I was getting nauseous and turned him off after that blatant attempt to reinforce her lie.

Now if he would have stopped her the first time and told her she was wrong I would have been mildly surprised.

But read the Media Matters link and then tell me again how wonderful Tweety is.

Yes he let her ramble on, he let Amy Goodman ramble on too. But he challenged her on what she said, just like he corrected Black earlier in the program too. I think people hear one thing and don't hear programs in their entire context or something. I'm having this same argument with somebody else about the Black segment. I've rarely seen Matthews correct a Republican guest, it's notable when he does it.
