"Conservative of what?"
That's going to be my line from now on when some mouth breathing scumbag tries to unshamefully label him/herself as a right winger.

Yes I do this with a nod to Plisken but it works the best.

Seriously what the fuck have they been conserving lately? our country's values? don't make me laugh.

They've been conserving the war machine the loft the rich sit on, death, destruction and mayhem oh yes that's been conserved quite well I will admit.

2. The joke is on them. Arrogance of believing in their cause
despite the poor quality of a man they were stuck with.

3. These idiots are conserving nothing.
Except trying to roll back the country to about, say, 1910, when women and blacks had no vote, robber barons ruled the country and wages for the working man were rock bottom.

4. Conserving critical thought, as opposed to using it liberally...
The only "conservative" to ever conserve anything was Teddy Roosevelt. Tell the little indignant monkeys that one!

5. I'll tell you what they're conserving...
an OLD FASHIONED way of thinking where old white men ran everything and slapped their pretty young secretaries on the ass, wives stayed home and made babies and served their man, black people "knew their place", gays stayed in the closet, smoke stacks spewed black smoke into the air, people smoked on airplanes, anyone could have a gun under their car seat and people threw bags of litter out their car windows...

Don't even get me started on religion.

6. Exactly
The only thing they conserve is their privileged way of life. Period.

7. and they can't standup for their ideals. In "Bowling for Columbine"
which was on tv recently, you see Dick Clark drive off rather than answer about why an employee has to work 70 hours a week and cannot afford an apartment. And when Michael Moore asked Charleton Heston why he went to certain cities right after school shootings, he gets up and walks out rather than answer the (rather tame) question.
