What'd be the first thing you overturn?
If YOU had the power, what would be the first thing that you change to undo the RW's sabotaging of America?

40. EPA
Turn the EPA and Forest Service back over to pros who know their business and care for the environment rather than politically appointed hacks on a par with drownie who were usually former execs with the industries they're supposed to oversee.Considering the question and the responses so far I ponder the related question;how long is it going to take to repair the damage this criminal has done to the country?

42. Yes, that's true...
But if we can't revoke this eventually the world will be owned by an uber-conglomerate, er, oh wait, isn't that what Iraq is about? A simple hostile takeover of not only one of the richest oil and gas fields known, but also an opportunity to raid one of the largest lines of credit in the world.

Somehow, I have the sneaking suspicion that we're fighting ourselves in Iraq. Hire some merc agent provoeteurs, and provide support services to the troops on sole source contracts at huge margins. No wonder Cheney's options are up 3000%.

44. Yes...
1886 a Supreme Court opinion would establish the principle that the 14th Amendment makes Corporations "persons" for purposes of Constitutional interpretation. The opinion gives no guidance to the reason for this principle. The question was not even argued since Chief Justice Waite announced at oral argument that "The court does not wish to hear argument on the question whether the provision in the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, which forbids a State to deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws, applies to corporations. We are all of the opinion that it does."
We were not all of that opinion, but like the federal reserve act, it was just jammed down everybody's throat by repugs:puke:.
Many of our finest legal minds have questioned that judgment sine then.

"I do not believe that the word 'person' in the Fourteenth Amendment includes corporations." -- Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black (1938)

"There was no history, logic, or reason given to support that view nor was the result so obvious that exposition was unnecessary." -- William O. Douglas (1949)

10. Patriot Act
ALL of it, by executive order, kill it once and for all.

THEN, because I believe they are equally important, GET RID of the tax cuts for anyone making over $100,000.00 a year (at least).

THEN, also by executive order if need be, make electronic voting machines illegal. Make paper and pen ballots the ONLY legal ballot, nationwide.

I could go on and on, but those three would be within five minutes of taking the Oath of Office.

re-install the Fairness Doctrine---overturn NAFTA-GATT and write a more progressive trade agreement which includes living wages and environmental concerns--overturn CAFTA--overturn the Bankruptcy Bill--inact a fairer progressive tax code...come into line with the World Court and participate in the Kyoto Treaty. then I'd get rid of Black ops in the CIA and merge CIA with FBI with two different divisions-one domestic and one foreign under the same umbrella. remove corporate influence from CIA--that's not our job to promote the interests of certain multinational corporate interests over the interests of our own people.

25. okay, I'm on a role
unauditable, non-paper ballot voting machines are out. Fund and promote a non-partisan agency to monitor corruption within departments, politicians and corporations--part of GAO. progressive regulatory laws for corporations--rewarding corporations that strengthen community infrastructures, research and labor. Strengthen inter-city economic goals with more small business loans for innovative progressive entrepeneurs who will aid in revitalizing inner cities--invest funds for inner city schools and implement (like in parts of California) schools that emphasize certain areas of study (like certain schools emphasize the arts, others math and science).

for the wealthy, which shouldn't take more than a few minutes.

Then, get that mess in Iraq cleaned up to the point those kids could come home.

Once those two priorities were done, I'd go one by one through the changes he's made from day one and reverse most of them. I doubt you'd find more than 2% that made sense.

37. 1st, the Patriot Act
like so many others here.

Second, take away the power of the president to wage war without Congress--I don't recall (and I'm too lazy to look right now) if it was part of the Patriot Act or not;

Then I'd make goddamned sure that the Endangered Species Act was completely funded and made stronger;

I'd make sure any pissant amendments during the chimp's years were rescinded from the EPA laws and those governing national parks and other large tracts of lands--in other words, no fucking timber roads through pristine forests, among other things;

I'd make goddamned sure that sports involving skimobiles in the winter were kept out of the forests, too;

As well as speedboats and other destructive vehicles in protected waterways;

As well as hunting of certain species, like the Florida panther and leopard, the lynx and cougars;

And by golly, I would even look at such treaties as NAFTA and start seeing where those in the U.S. are unfairly threatened by such treaties.

I would also look carefully at EVERY SINGLE treaty, act, law, amendment and ruling over the two Bush admins, the Reagan admin and even some of the Clinton years, in order to oust every fucking asshole in our government, and to make sure the level of corruption in the government is quelled in one way or another.

If I were duly elected, within the first 5 minutes of my administration, I would rescind ALL pardons from the previous administration (Bush 43) so that cocksuckers like Skilling, Lay, Fastow, and all those other assholes didn't go unpunished.

On edit: And I would make DAMNED sure that Leonard Peltier got a real trial, and a real defense. And not let him be the scapegoat again.
