I Can't Believe It.... I now Love and Respect George Clooney! |
|
Yes folks, DemAgog is a chick...
I have always hated George Clooney. Always. Always. Always.
But unlike my mother, who always hated Michael J. Fox, and for no good reason, I can turn around my views.
I hated George for "Batman" and for "The Perfect Storm". I thought he was a horrid actor. Never watched E.R. and the fact of the matter is, his being on the show turned me more away from it than toward it.
But with the release of his second directorial effort, I am coming to realize that he's quite talented. I guess his efforts in Batman and TPS were an aberration.
That, plus he exudes happiness at being single, and I love that about him. I've always grudgingly admired him for that.
Plus he hates this administration.
Plus on NPR he admitted that he felt "lucky". He seems quite down to earth and humble.
Plus he said recently that no part of him ever wants to "replicate" (I believe that was his word) regarding having children. I adore him for sticking to his childfree ways, as I'm of like mind and just prior to meeting Mr. Agog had a horrid relationship with an abusive idiot who was so into the mentality of breeding (even though he was a child himself) that I thought I'd have a tough time ever finding men who didn't want me to have their children for them.
In short, Mr. Clooney is my New Big Crush... I love Mr. Agog of course, but with Brad's wayward ways... I need a new NBC. George, you're it, you lucky guy! :smoke:

George has ALWAYS owned up to the fact the Batman was a horrible movie. He says he may have single handedly destroyed the franchise, but I say the script writers had more to do with it (that and Arnold Scwartzenegger as Mr. Freeze).
I can't wait to see "Good Night and Good Luck"... I'm hoping it will make it to my town soon!

8. I had never heard that... |
|
I saw that "Batman" and stopped watching/reading/taking in anything about it. I thought it was so vile, I was almost offended at them taking my money at the video store for the movie.
I'm glad to hear he owned up to it being awful... Now I can get over that, of course I've already forgiven him for it. :-D
But not Ahnold!

7. He used to do "that thing with his head"* |
|
I think the director of the movie Out Of Sight may have said to him "hey Clooney, quit with that head thing", because he got over it with that movie and has been quite watchable ever since.
*yes, I'm quoting myself.

Can't wait to see this one. I've actually seen the "See It Now" episode about McCarthy, and just got through with an exam about McCarthyism, so I can't wait.

It's really terrific, and he's a tremendous talent.
Awfully easy on the eyes, too, I have to admit.
The whole cast was excellent, though. And his direction was really, really good.
It was also very cool to be in an audience, composed mostly of older folk, who definitely got it.

12. But why did you hate someone you didn't even know? |
|
Perhaps you meant that you didn't care for his acting or his portrayals. I mean, wouldn't it be wrong to "hate" someone without actually knowing their heart or personality?
I'm glad you like him now. I've always liked him, but then again, I never watched E.R.

he has that feeling of wit and gracefulness. I must admit I never quite saw it in his previous work like ER or Perfect Storm. I used to think he was an actor wannabe. Amazing how you see someone in a different light when they act so independently and creatively.

An exaggeration to be sure, but both words are different when referring to famous people we'll never meet.

14. George Clooney's dad ran for the House in 2004 as a Democrat |
|
He allegedly lost, but I believe that he was cheated at the polls. George of course campaigned for him.

15. I just wish they'd let his new movie show here in So. Utah. |
|
Yes folks. Censorship is alive and well in this microcosm of the perfect Republican State. His movie is nowhere to be found in St. George Utah. I'm not sure about Salt Lake, but nowhere here in the southern part of the state. I'd have to go to Las Vegas to see it. Same thing happened with Fahrenheit 9/11. That's a two hour drive to see a god damned movie!

but I have my suspicions on whether or not it will be shown here. I meant that about Farenheit. It was never here.

19. I've liked Clooney from the beginning... |
|
loved his role on ER and didn't mind his Batman too much...after the first one I thought they all pretty much sucked anyway. I actually disliked the second one more than the rest combined, even the last one.
