1. Conventional wisdom says...

..we're not supposed to like Al Franken.

:eyes:

...or Jerry Springer either.

Too bad, I like them both.

Thanks for the link.

8. I adore Franken and his show
What bugs me about Springer is that he lets his idiot callers spout off too long before he stops the bullshit. Springer himself is okay, and I think he reaches a different audience than the others.

That clip is funny as all hell. I'm still ordering my copy from Barnes and Noble, though.

9. Why Barnes and Noble over Amazon?

Is there a reason?

12. A couple
1) Barnes and Noble is 100% blue (www.buyblue.org)
2) Amazon started the practice of making new books compete with used ones, which really hurts authors. (I'm an author.) Sadly, B&N does it now, too.
3) Amazon allows reviewers to trash authors in the reviews (B&N may, too, by now for all I know)
4) Amazon does nothing to police used book sellers selling stripped books. Those are books that have had the covers ripped off and sent back for credit. Neither the publisher nor the author got paid for those books.

Only 1 may still distinguish B&N and Amazon any more, but that's enough for me. Ask any author about Amazon and see what they say.

11. Springer is just one of those polite guys
I think that's what it is with Springer. I still like him though.

10. I love Al!
Him and Springer are both great. I enjoy their shows and can't wait to get this new book from Al. I'm reading "Lies" now and I'm enjoying it. I'm at the part of what would happen if Bush, Cheney, Limbaugh and some other rightwingers were in Vietnam with Kerry and Gore. LOL. It's funny. I miss Katherine on the show though. :( Does anybody know about her book??

13. I miss Katherine, too
And I thought I didn't like her. Go figure. She was a good foil for him. The shtick where she'd yell at him really worked. Plus, I miss the leasle song. I think Al does better when he has a cohost to bounce off. I hope she comes back when the book's written and the book tours are over.

18. That's rediculous - conventional wisdom?
I like Al Franken - I like his show more now that he's alone for some reason...
