Who sent the Anthrax letters?
This whole story has been swept under the carpet. That was a serious crime and I can't see a reason why it isn't be investigated. It was a terrorist attack and the "war on terra" screaming people haven't said a darn thing about it.

Another reason to work hard to elect Democrats in 2006.

13. I am afraid the Dems won't tell us the truth in hopes of not dividing the
country further. I have a strong sense that there are many secrets that will be kept secrets.

3. I Have Wondered that for 4 years now
I live in Lake Worth, FL close to the first Anthrax attacks. We had scares at our local post office. I feel like no one in the adminstration cares. Terra Terra. If we fight them over there, we won't fight them over here. CRAP.

4. I was just thinking about this the other day.
I want someone to ask Scotty at the next press conference, "Why did this administration fail to find the Anthrax killer? Why do you think only Democrats were targeted? Why was this investigation swept under the rug? Is this administration hiding something?"

Well, a girl can dream, can't she?

5. There are SOO many other investigations going on, this one
has dropped to #135. OK, maybe there aren't quite that many, but it sure seems like there are!

I do think that's what has happened though. So many other investigations are now going on, the people responsible for finding the anthrax perp just don't have time to keep looking!

6. Whoever did it, knew ahead of time they would frame that guy.
I'm not even going to use his name, because I'm certain he's a patsy. They knew he had written the pamphlet, and they knew he had described the type of attack that took place. It was easy to set him up, and the ferocity of the actions that took place against him suggest someone in govt. really wanted to pin it on him.

I would suggest that whoever did it was either American or Israeli, and their reason for doing it was to spread the terror, extend the issues to include Israel and the Palestinians, and lay it off on a plausible patsy.

10. i agree . . . altho' i do not know who you specifically reference.
the whole anthrax thing was an inside job, imo. wasn't it determined that the anthrax came from one of our domestic miltary bases? it was meant to be another sleight of hand. apparently it was so slight, that it disappeared off the radar.

btw, 'hi' lake worth, juno beach here.

29. that guy is no patsy
and far from ferocity of the response, he still hasn't been prosecuted for many easily provable crimes, such as the one that got him fired from lsu -- faking his Ph.D. and other documents to get access to security clearance & ebola/marburg virus (his area of specialty)

lsu could find out in days that hatfill's documents were fake & he was not what he claimed to be

why couldn't the fbi or the u.s. gov't

sorry he's guilty guilty guilty & it is a crime & a disgrace that he has been allowed to walk & even to sue the fbi for disrupting his activities, poor baby

if you had done what he did, getting access to weaponized grade biologicals w. forged credentials -- over 3 decades -- you'd be in prison for a very long time, even w.out the anthrax

instead they were going to award this dude with a $150K job at lsu

and they call us in louisiana corrupt, sorry, that crap don't fly down here

hatfill has most likely been on cia payroll since the 70s, that's the only way it makes sense that they haven't prosecuted this whackjob

7. that is interesting isn't it
Tell me then, who benefited most by terrorizing the Press and Congress with Anthrax?

It definitely got them all lined up in support for a war on terra,
Amazing coincidence that!

12. Is there a leader in Congress or the Senate who would benefit
by attacking and intimidating Democratic leaders? Is there somebody who has the medical knowledge and the access to (or ownership of) sophisticated medical facilities? Is there somebody who works alongside the Senators whose offices were hit, yet whose office was unscathed? Perhaps a Senator who is so medically brilliant he can diagnose brain damage by videotape? Hmmm... can't think of anybody...

8. When you consider the War on Terrr it is so strange.
Edited on Sun Oct-23-05 12:35 PM by niallmac
Are not the Anthrax letters so specific a terrorist act that they should have the same
priority as invading Afghanistan?
Should they not be followed weekly and all resources necessary devoted
to solving their creation and finding their creator(s)?
Instead we have Iraq. We have commenced a war that is mind boggling, inexplicable, irrational.
We now have a huge bureacracy called Homeland Security that aside from terrorizing me in it's concept and Big Brotherness seems not at all concerned about anonymous letters full of Anthrax distributed at the height of our post 911 hysteria.
I mean, who knows, maybe someone who would lie us into a war had something to do with it?

20. My thoughts exactly..
When I first saw the letter I thought, If I was a terrorist why would I send a letter to the Dems ( who weren't in power) and specific to Daschle who we know they hate and was it Rather or Brokaws secretary who received a letter?

15. It hasn't been investigated because the people who should
investigate it are corrupt. And one of the recipients was Tom Daschle who this admin hated with a passion. I'd find it very hard to believe they didn't have something to do with it.

16. Why was the WH on Cipro 2 weeks before the 1st incidence of
Anthrax was reported? Cipro is not a preventitive therapy. And why did Frist and Judy Miller get pretend Anthrax, while Daschale and Brokaw got the real thing?

http://www.guardian.co.uk/anthrax/story/0,1520,580364,00.html

I'm betting that the Niger document forger might know something about the Anthrax attack.

18. Same Reason Certain Small Airplane Crashes Got Minimal Investigation
It was part of our "Night of the Long Knives" -- the final stage in the
destruction of our two-party system. Since then, the Democrats in DC
have offered only token opposition, no matter what the regime does.

Everyone knows who brought Carnahan and Wellstone's planes down,
and everyone knows who sent the anthrax. Certainly every Democrat
in DC knows, and they know that it could happen to them if they make
any real trouble for the BFEE.

is an insult to those who died. I have my own ideas, my tinfoil hat is on. The anthrax attack was done at the time to push the Patriot Act--yes, I believe it was a shot across the bow to certain individuals to get in step or else.:tinfoilhat: the anthrax attack and bin ladin further an agenda, then no more thoughts are given to them. Strange, isn't it?

24. The same people who perpetrated 911
Excerpt from PNAC 101 - Rise of the Neocons”

Fear became the Administration's strategic tactic for reprogramming the public into accepting the PNAC's militaristic designs. Still shell-shocked and exhausted from the enormity of the WTC and Pentagon tragedies, the public's panic shifted into frenzied over-drive when anthrax-laced envelopes arrived in government and media offices, killing five people. A perpetrator was never identified but the investigation eventually centered around the Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick, one of the nation's main anthrax research centers.

25. This HAS been answered and covered up...
The version of weaponized anthrax used was from that tested and stored in the US: the "ames" version.

http://www.ph.ucla.edu/epi/bioter/anthraxsususlab.html

The FBI began investigating this assuming it was from a foreign version of the bacteria. It wasn't.

So they hired the brilliant professor who helped them track down the Unabomber and he traced the letters from USAMRID.

Here is a nice article about his findings...and why the investigation stopped suddenly.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/2196008.stm

snip
"Speaking about the investigation for the first time, Prof Foster told the BBC he had identified two suspects who had both worked for the CIA, the US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) and other classified military operations.

Controversially, Prof Foster says the killer is likely to be highly patriotic individual who wanted to demonstrate that the US was badly prepared for an act of biological terrorism.

The weapons-grade anthrax was posted in letters just days after the 11 September terror attacks, leaving five people dead, 18 injured and 35,000 forced to take precautionary antibiotics.

The professor says he does not believe the killer will strike again as he has achieved his goal.

He explained: "To that end his misplaced patriotism has worked. Today millions of government dollars have gone into research and anthrax antibiotics are now available to the public."

And just look at how much extra money has been thrown at this "problem".

If you want to watch a good documentary on this, go here and download the History Channel's Anthrax Investigation:

http://www.thedossier.ukonline.co.uk/video_cover-ups.htm

Try not to throw up afterwards...it is depressing.
