A question about Ariana Huffington....
I was listening to Ariana Huffington on Bill Maher's show this morning (Courtesy of Can-o-fun), when my fiance's father said I was listening to the Evil Bitch. When I asked what he was talking about, he explained that when she was running for Governor of California, a bunch of the tenants from her various rental properties came forward to state that she was an awful landlord (to put it mildly)... but this is the first I've heard of it. Granted, my fiance's father is a loyal follower of Rush and O'Reilly, so the possibility of misinformation is huge - but can anyone tell me whether this story is true? I tried to look it up on Snopes and got nothing. As far as Google is concerned, I did put her name in, but didn't have the time to go through all the pages.

At this point, I'm chalking it up to more Right Wing propoganda... and if you haven't already done so, you should check out her segment on Bill Maher this week:

1. What about her ex-husband, Michael Huffington?
Did he ever own any rental properties himself?

3. Michael Ran for Governor
Arianna never ran for governor of California, but her then-husband, Michael Huffington did. I never heard of any bad landlord stories, but it is possible I guess.

Arianna used to be a right-wing shill, but she changed her stripes to progressive after she divorced Michael a few years ago.

6. No, no, no
She tried. She failed.

But, she's a truly opportunistic, multi-faced shrew not worth anyone's attention.

When the wind shifts, she will, too.

4. Okay... This shows me how much I paid attention to the CA Governor's race.

I didn't know it was her husband that ran, and I don't know anything about how her marriage ended. I just like a lot of the articles she's written... I obviously don't know too much about her. Can anyone fill me in??

8. She's a piece of work
Wrote a couple of biographies, both of which got her sued for plagiarism. The suits were settled out of court, very confidentially and quietly.

She married a rich gay guy and got him to run for Congress (read "he spent millions for a seat in Congress") and then moved with him to Washington, where she had aspirations to become a grand dame in the tradition of Pamela Harriman, only on the rightwing side. She failed, her attempted "salon" a raging flop.

Her husband told her he really liked men and not being in politics, so she took her two daughters, got a fat settlement in the divorce, and decided she was really a liberal.

She'll do and say anything to get on TV, in print, before a camera.

In short, she's a media whore with some very serious problems. A fraud.
