Just exactly what does Halliburton do?
Haven't spent a lot of time on research, but what exactly does Halliburton "produce" except for maybe some oil pipeline products?

I keep hearing that Halliburton is the "only" company capable of doing -- such and such -- from providing food to US soldiers and rebuilding the oil infrastructure in Iraq to rebuilding New Orleans.

Well, it seems that Hallibuton's efforts have been complete failures in Iraq, including serving rancid food to U.S. soldiers.

Where is the Media????????????

It seems that Halliburton is nothing more than a front company. What do they actually do?

I suspect that their REAL business is the sale of WMD. Other than that, WHAT DO THEY REALLY DO? except pose as a gatekeeper of sub-contractors for the politically connected?

So, what does Halliburton actually do?

1. They take billions of our tax dollars,
then they give a little money to a subcontractor to paint a school in Iraq.

3. From Their Web Site:
Founded in 1919, Halliburton is one of the world's largest providers of products and services to the oil and gas industries. The Company adds value through the entire lifecycle of oil and gas reservoirs.

7. Damn good question. Something totally outside of the realm
of any other company in the continental US, because they are getting the bulk of the contracts in New Orleans, doncha know? No one else can do it better! :sarcasm:
And as far as Iraq? Promotion of war = profits.

8. Their industry is "oil field services"
I used to index investment banking reports for a database and I was aware of many companies/industries. I remember Halliburton, listed in "oil field services." Sounds like the definition has been expanded quite a bit.

14. It's suspicious that they always seem to have plenty of reserve employees
to do anything King Bush asks. It's almost as if they're a company specifically built to service Bush's bullshit wars.

15. They steal things and kill people
Technically they are supposed to do crazy things like provide food service and uniforms to our troops. In reality, they are a front set up to deposit taxpayer money directly into Dick Cheney's bank account.

16. Thank You All.
I now think that Halliburton is the same entity as Enron.

A company that does nothing more than a cashectomy on the shareholders, employees and the U.S. government (thanks to us taxpayers).

Cheney has made it possible that the Nothing Company steals Our tax dollars that are then recycled to pay for more GOP graft that produces NOTHING.

24. Good Book for You
The Halliburton Agenda: The Politics of Oil and Money," by Dan Briody,
Wiley, 2004

It traces both Halliburton & Kellog Brown Root from their inception through a continually corrupt history (corrupt Texas politicians play a big role from the late 1930s to the present). According to Briody, they elected LBJ to the House and he was in their pocket during his entire career. Easy, informative read.
