Chalabi to visit Washington
I wonder if he and Judy Miller are going to meet at a hotel somewhere.

Reuters via War and Peice

Ahmad Chalabi, the Iraqi leader accused of giving the Bush administration flawed information about Saddam Hussein's weapons program, will visit Washington in November amid speculation that U.S. officials view him as an acceptable candidate for Iraqi prime minister.

Chalabi, who is now Iraq's deputy prime minister, is expected to meet with Treasury Secretary John Snow next month to discuss the progress of economic reconstruction, a Treasury spokesman said on Sunday.

A date for the meeting has not yet been announced.

A State Department spokesman said Chalabi could also meet with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. No meeting has been announced.

Let me guess; he has some new intel from a guy named fastball saying the WMD's are actually in Syria.

1. I guess Mr. Chalabi has been forgiven.
Will he sit next to Pickles again at the next SOTU address? ...But I thought his latest intel was from a guy named Knuckleball who says the WMDs are in Venezuela.

5. I wonder if Fitz can have an indictment ready by then.
I think that would be a terrific way to greet Chablubber as he steps off the plane. How much bail should he post?

9. Why not?
 Of course, if Chalabi has diplomatic immunity on his visit next month, that would make the indictment a pro forma matter, I guess.

8. You're right. Didn't he defraud the United States in the big currency
exchange cluster? Didn't millions disappear under his watch? Well then, arrest the bastard's theiving ass and throw him in a slammer.

And if not for that that espionage should do. I've never heard that they cleared him from that one. He cost American lives if he was an Iranian spy.

Or lying. Lying to get us into a war. I'm sure that the charge 'intent to do something or another illegal' can be justified.

THIS GUY DESERVES TO GO ON TRIAL WITH THE REST OF THE LIARS.

13. I'm serious and agree with you. The moment the guy enters the country ...
... he should be arrested.

They should not grant him any form of "diplomatic immunity": None, zero, nada.

Peace.

10. I was thinking about this the other day. If Fitz has read the yellow cake
forgeries, and sealed in the report from Italy was the supposition that Chalabi was behind the forgeries...do you think Fitz can arrest Chalabi for forgery and other crimes?
