Could this be true? That there are Republicans, like this one, who might actually think the Bushies are in D.C. to govern?

"Another Republican close to White House said that some in the party were viewing a possible departure by Mr. Rove as a potential positive. 'He is a political genius, but he controls too much, and the cabinet is irrelevant,' said the Republican, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he did not want to alienate Mr. Rove. 'And maybe there will have to be some other policy people in there, and maybe that will help the president.'"

1. Roves tenure has been a disaster
Nothing but incompetence on top of incompetence. Where this "genius" label comes from is beyond me.

4. The "genius" is in getting * elected. The rest is simply gangster methods
of grabbing and holding more power and money.

7. Getting Bush elected is just gangster tactics too
intimidation, bribes, payoffs, etc.

2. Rove's tenure has seen constantly falling Bush numbers except 1 bump
Rove's tenure has seen constantly falling Bush numbers except one bump: 9-11. But any president would have the wits to stand on a pile of rubble, put his or her arm around a firefighter, and use a bullhorn. Attacking and defeating Afghanistan was a no-brainer. Rove can't take any credit for either. Everything else has been downhill for G.W. "Shrub" "Arbusto" Bush.

3. Remember in O'Neil's Book
how shocked he was that meetings centered around Politics instead of Policy and virtually all discussions were political and not about moving the nation forward.

This has been going on for 5 years and the damage has been (and will continue to be) enormous.

6. Rove is NOT a genius
He just operates on another plane. Mostly because he isn't bound or confined by things like good taste, morality, or legality.

8. And all because of a life altering experience he had
as a teenager.

He was beat up for wearing a Nixon button by a girl who happened to be a Kennedy Democrat. And he's worked out his revenge ever since.

10. This is how Reagan attempted to regain respectability...
after Iran-Contra...

"A New Broom Sweeps Clean" maybe a hackneyed, dated election slogan, but it HAS worked effectively in the past...

...and face it - how much worse could it get???
