Bushies feeling the boss' wrath
Prez's anger growing in hard times - pals
BY THOMAS M. DeFRANK
DAILY NEWS WASHINGTON BUREAU CHIEF

President Bush is facing specter of losing irreplaceable aide Karl Rove.

WASHINGTON - Facing the darkest days of his presidency, President Bush is frustrated, sometimes angry and even bitter, his associates say.

***

Bush usually reserves his celebrated temper for senior aides because he knows they can take it. Lately, however, some junior staffers have also faced the boss' wrath.

"This is not some manager at McDonald's chewing out the help," said a source with close ties to the White House when told about these outbursts. "This is the President of the United States, and it's not a pleasant sight."

***

Presidential advisers and friends say Bush is a mass of contradictions: cheerful and serene, peevish and melancholy, occasionally lapsing into what he once derided as the "blame game." They describe him as beset but unbowed, convinced that history will vindicate the major decisions of his presidency even if they damage him and his party in the 2006 and 2008 elections.

***

Bush is so dismayed that "the only person escaping blame is the President himself," said a sympathetic official, who delicately termed such self-exoneration "illogical."

Being president is hard work, George.

This is a guy who has never been held responsible for anything he has done. He has also been quick to try to take credit for the efforts of others. This is a whole new experience for the poor fellow. I don't believe he is man enough to deal with what is coming his way.

12. No, this isn't just some McDonalds manager
A McDonalds manager actually has to work, sometimes for many years and often for long hours, to get and keep their job.

And a McDonalds manager is probably more buisness savvy and much more qualified (to manage a McDonalds or be President) than Bush is.

And believe me, this is not a dig on McDonalds managers.

28. That line in there really offended me
And, no, I am not a McDonalds (or any other fast food or retail) manager. Neither is any of my family.

But I just found that line to be so arrogant.

"This isn't some McDonalds manager. This is the president".

Yeah.

If a McDonalds manager had Bush's history of alcoholism, drug abuse, and a general record of failure, they wouldn't even have a change to become manager. They'd be lucky to be hired by McDonalds at all.

18. A mass of contradictions
That says it pretty succinctly. Everyone else is to blame for Little George getting his own way. Remember, this is a president who has never vetoed a bill from Congress.

But all of the problems cropping up for him are . . . someone else's fault! Ta-dah!

26. While the Capitol Hill Blue stories had no foundation,
Edited on Mon Oct-24-05 09:13 AM by rocknation
they always seemed perfectly logical to me.

At the same time, these sources say Bush...has lashed out at aides as his political woes have mounted.

I, in turn, describe these friends and advisors of making things that much worse by enabling his behavior. It's time he learned that the world is not his personal checkerboard, and he can't get what he wants simply because he wants it. Since he can no longer rely on reality, he's investing his "political capital" in "history?"

37. I don't get the one sentence????
What's the thing about dismayed that everyone is getting blamed except him? Does that mean he WANTS to be blamed? Does it mean he knows he's as guilty as sin and is surprised that no one seems to know?? I mean, like, I just do NOT get that sentence. There's no way this douche bag wants to be implicated so he can so nobly fight---jesushchrist, he had to have Cheney hold his hand in front of the 9/11 Panel, remember!!

48. I read it slightly differently...
Read it with a slight pause after "dismayed"...

"Bush is so dismayed ... that "the only person escaping blame is the President himself," said a sympathetic official, who delicately termed such self-exoneration "illogical."

Read this way, the "sympathetic official" is explaining away why * is blaming everyone around him - it's because he's so "dismayed." Sounds like no one has the guts to tell * that he really needs to just grow up and deal with it!

46. The indictments will be his tipping point
Then we need just one zinger question from a pissed off reporter to send him over the edge on national TV. It'll get waaaay more coverage than the "Dean Scream" and we can deliciously relish each and every replay while the freepers implode in agony.

Without his usual sycophant Playmates around to bolster his ego or cover for him, it won't take much to push him off the cliff. I'm counting on Helen Thomas or David Gregory to give him the gentle nudge into oblivion.

And may bush be ruined and his family bankrupted and the cabal of assholes at the top and big money and big religion all be thrown out of power and forced to pay for all the damages done to our country environment and public well being until they don't have two nickles to rub together and no"capital"to spend on anything even saving their own hides,Let their masks fall off so no one will EVER trust them or their families or associates ,or trust the sociopathic kind of over confident ambitious fake human being with power ever again.May this fucking"dynasty"and all others die nasty.
