A quote about Fitzgerald from one of Bush's "white house allies" in todays NY Daily News "He's a vile, detestable, moralistic person with no heart and no conscience who believes he's been tapped by god to do very important things". Not to put anyone on the uhhh... couch, but could this person be maybe projecting pent up animosity toward someone a little closer to him???

3. White House allies are mostly true believers and syncophants |
|
Turning Georgie's legacy into that of the flaming sword of conservatism is their magnum opus. Think of the mormons defending Joe Smith. Bush supporters are just as fervent.

6. ahem...'conservative'? what's been conserved? |
|
that, to me, is one of the big mysteries of the bush extravaganza; this radical change in policy/purpose of government (government is NOW the jack booted thug enforcers of the 'rule of the overseer') from gov 'of the people, by the people, for the people! which it once was! the stars and stripes has become the 'Wastica' and 'christian' a term of fright (children dress up as christians ie black glasses, brass knuckles, bibles and stormtroop uni's on halloween)

5. "tapped by god "??? Sorry, God did not appoint Fitz |
|
it was someone a tad more r/w as far as I recall.
Fitzgerald will wipe the floor with these deceitful people because he has integrity and his case is proceeding on the basis of facts. All the neocons have in defence are lies and spin.

7. Fitz was originally 'appointed' by Fitz. |
|
Edited on Mon Oct-24-05 09:00 AM by MarsThe Cat
nominated, actually...to be the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois- on September 1, 2001...by former senator peter fitzgerald(r-il), the guy who used to have Obama's job- it was the highlight and lasting legacy of his one-term tenure. The United States Senate confirmed his nomination by unanimous consent and President Bush signed his commission on October 29, 2001.

8. Sorry, I meant the appointment in 2003 |
|
to oversee the Plamegate investigation. I should have been more precise in my language. And thanks for the extra information. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3358215.stm

13. Peter Fitzgerald was HATED by his own party. |
|
They hated him because he wouldn't walk the party line. He chose not to run again because he would get no backing from the party. He had too many ideas that got him labeled as a "RINO".

9. I'm sure Fitz discussed his views about God |
|
with the GJ and witnesses. How else could this WH ally know that this prude of a prosecutor thinks he's been "tapped by God."
Project much?
