Is "discrediting Joe Wilson" a red herring?
Is "discrediting Joe Wilson" a red herring?

The confirmation that Patrick Fitzgerald is indeed investigating the forged Niger uranium documents introduced to the Bush Administration through Italy, first broken by AntiWar.com's Justin Raimondo is now appearing in multiple "MSM" reports. On October 19, 2005, Justin wrote:

Even as the FBI was following the trail of the forgers, the Italians were looking into the matter from their end. A parliamentary committee was charged with investigating, and they issued a heavily redacted report: now, I am told by a former CIA operations officer, the report has aroused some interest on this side of the Atlantic. According to a source in the Italian embassy, Patrick J. "Bulldog" Fitzgerald asked for and "has finally been given a full copy of the Italian parliamentary oversight report on the forged Niger uranium document," the former CIA officer tells me:

"Previous versions of the report were redacted and had all the names removed, though it was possible to guess who was involved. This version names Michael Ledeen as the conduit for the report and indicates that former CIA officers Duane Clarridge and Alan Wolf were the principal forgers. All three had business interests with Chalabi."

Among other major media outlets, UPI's Martin Walker reports:

Two facts are, however, now known and between them they do not bode well for the deputy chief of staff at the White House, Karl Rove, President George W Bush's senior political aide, not for Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff, Lewis "Scooter" Libby.

The first is that Fitzgerald last year sought and obtained from the Justice Department permission to widen his investigation from the leak itself to the possibility of cover-ups, perjury and obstruction of justice by witnesses. This has renewed the old saying from the days of the Watergate scandal, that the cover-up can be more legally and politically dangerous than the crime.

Duane R. "Dewey" Clarridge is a former 30+ year employee of the CIA. His late in career postings included chief of the Latin American Division (1981-1984), chief of the European Division, and chief of the Counterterrorism Center. He retired from the CIA in 1987 after being formally reprimanded for his role in the Iran-Contra affair."

Its looking like a red herring to me!!!

2. I HIGHLY recommend reading and studying Justin R's report. Diagram

it, if necessary, to get a full understanding.

SISMI and P2 are somewhat new to us - since we are so isolated from the world by our newspapers and tv corporations, you will have new stuff to deal with if you skipped over this report last summer.

I think reading this report will make the outcome of the Grand Jury outcomes more understandable, especially if Ledeen, Franklin, Feith, and some of the others are named in connection with the exposure of Brewster-Jennings. And there will be no doubt about the connections and importance of of Israel to some of our 'citizen employees?' who many would call traitors. There are all kinds fof them.

When you combine what you read here and other places, it seems that Israel is running this country.

It is also an excellent read in how the various agencies of our country work against each other, set up each other to ruin our lives.

Who would have thought that running against Gore and Kerry was a thirty years cadre of criminals who never seem to go away and probably a lot of young ones joining in to take us down for the glory of a few.

3. I doubt it.
After examining Fitzgerald's evidence Judge Tatel made a reference to "the plot against Wilson." That seems to be consistent with "discrediting Joe Wilson."

I also doubt that Fitzgerald will go into the forged documents or any of the other lies used by Bush to justify the attack on Iraq. It would be extremely difficult to convince a jury beyond a resonable doubt that those lies violated a provision of federal criminal law. Plus, he told Judge Hogan over a year ago that his investigation was complete except for the testimony of Cooper and Miller. I don't think that either Cooper or Miller provided any testimony about the Niger forgeries.
