Bush as the wounded animal.
I stopped by a professor's office today and while there noticed his pins and stickers and commented that I liked his politics. We then went on to have a long discussion about the present state of things and he made a statement that made me sit and think. He said "As much I want to see Bush and his gang taken down, it scares me to think of what he will do as a wounded animal." While he feels the coming indictments are necessary he said this will be a wounded president who has nothing to lose and that could place this country in a very dangerous state. He also said he was worried it might make him more apt to invade another country and who knows what else. So I guess it is time we gave thought to the aftermath. What comes after the indictments and what they may eventually bring? What kind of dangers are we facing as a country?

1. I agree with your professor.
I think that not only as a wounded animal reacion but also because of his sense of entitlement, superiority and arrogance.* would screw the country as much as he could just to stick it to us. Its something we need to be watchful and prepared for.

10. plus, it seems bush really dislike america
that's so strange, but bush acts like he dislikes the country.....not the whitebread fox sunday morning america, but the gritty nation that gave us bob dylan and malcolm x and appollo 8 and made nikita khrushchev's son an honoured professor at an ivy league university. also, bush's dislike is visceral, like a dread of full moons, while men like kristol and melonscaife/ledeen etc indulge in their hatred and contempt for america with a bridge burning earnestness: ann coulter was always talking about AMERICA when she described her loathing of 'liberalism' (in case anyone doesn't know it, the 'greek' tradition that the west has adopted, and where the battles between good/evil and left/right etc have been fought out, were all humbled by the liberalism of the christian bible, because, well, how do you run a country 'turning the other cheek'? cheney norquist et al have simply dismissed this tradition, and mock the very essense of what allowed the usa, and thus the rest of the west, to develop an economic model that allowed people to be free and have some money at same time)

2. I agree with your professor
I've been saying for some time that Junior is America's Ceaucescu and like Ceaucescu, it's going to take violence to remove him.

Junior unfortunately is probably going to take half the country down with him. It's IN his vicious, vindictive, hateful nature. He's a Sociopath-Psychopath, so he'll think nothing of it.

3. It's an apt metaphor because ideology, like instinct...
...causes reflexive behavior.

7. Let's say all the top people go...

There will be a new Repug in the WH. Who knows? A fundie? He/She appoints really scary people, people that make us wish for the current group. In 3 years - we're out of Iraq, economy swings back to the good side, no scandals, tighter press control.

Another repug gets elected cause it's all so great now, and diebold.

Dems neeeeeeeeeed to hammer this. They need a 'plan' with a catchy name. They need a plan, I haven't heard one. All I hear is "we can no longer put up with the corruption..." I need "and here is what needs to be done".

How many times have you heard "I'd vote for a Dem but they have no plans, they just hate Bush"?

8. "could place this country in a very dangerous state"
where the hell are we now if not in a very dangerous state?!?!?

I'd call having a fascist cabal in power, waging murderous war unchecked by any law, raiding the national treasury, destroying the middle class, and destroying our constitution "a dangerous state," wouldn't you? How much worse could it get?

9. Just As Iraqi Insurgents Do Not Need Abuse Photos As Motivation To Attack,
Bush does not need indictments to attack. He has been insanely dangerous since day one.

12. I Sort of Agree
But I am not so optimistic that he will only be more dangerous if wounded. It seems to me that every day he says something, he appears more dangerous.

Any chance we could have men in white coats come and take him away if things are bad enough???
