When is someone going to sue over mercury levels in fish?
Isn't that as important as second hand cigarette smoke?

3. I don't eat fish.
But I am forced to inhale the secondhand smoke from up to 100 cigarettes in a 9 hour day.

5. I have to work.
Jobs are scarce here.
I was unemployed for six months before I found this one.

6. What kind of job is this

7. Inside sales.
Everybody smokes except for me and one other person.
I feel like I chain smoked three packs by the time I get out of here.
I swear I have nicotine fits on the weekend.
My clothes stink, my hair stinks, even my skin stinks.

8. A great talking point against pro-lifers
Abortion is bad, but dumping toxic chemicals into the water systems that cause developing fetuses to not develop properly and leave lifelong brain damage is A-OK.

10. And why try to limit mercury levels? If you don't like mercury
don't eat fish.

12. Is it me, or are you dumb as a post?
What stupid comment that was. So you like mercury in the oceans?

What an ass!

13. Are we permitted to tell others what to do when it comes to mercury
in the oceans?

Based on the smoking threads I wasn't so sure any more.

14. I started the thread in reaction to the smoking threads...
because I think mercury in the ocean is a lot more important that cigarette smoke. Jesus, less than 30% of the population (less than that probably) smokes regularly. Yes, smoking is gross and bad for people, blaa blaa blaa... but I'd like to have a tuna sandwich once in while without the worry of being poisoned by it.

15. I'd like to have a tuna sammich without being poisoned by the fish OR by
the person at the next table in the restaurant.

And that's my only objection to smoking - what it does to others nearby.

I can object to both poisons.

I hope so, because that does to others as well.

17. Yes - so I strongly support controls on emissions. This isn't exactly
an unusual dem position.

11. Think of the poor women in the "north" who rely on fish more than three
times a week in their diet. And have mercurty in their breast milk.
