3. I don't understand why they don't simply start a GD:WH-Leak forum now.

The proposed solution seems unwieldy and not very workable and not the best solution. People will be posting into the GD (General Discussion) on all kinds of topics, because they always have. Once you have people trained up to put General Discussion topics into the GD-Politics forum, which will take a couple of weeks, it will be time to switch the forums back.

If you do want to have a GD: Everything Else Forum, then I think it would be simplest for that to be the current GD forum, and put the WH Leak threads into what would be the old GD: Politics forum.

I don't understand why they don't simply add a GD:WH-Leak forum right now. Leave the current forums as they are, but divert and move all White House / CIA / Leak / Plamegate threads into the new forum.
