If Fitz sent target letters, would we necessarily know?

The guy has been incredibly secretive. Pundits routinely complain about how "leak proof" this investigation has been. Also, the WH wouldn't want this bad news out. Maybe these letters are already in the hands of the defendants.

He prosecuted someone else in Chicago.........I'm thinking it was either Ryan or Daley. Anyway, he made the announcement in that case. As I recall, he made a statement that said something like.......people deserve honesty in government.

2. They don't use target letters at this point

Usually the prosecutor lets the person's attorney know what the charges are going to be and they work out arrangements for when and where they have to turn themselves in.

I think that's what the coded message from their lawyers meant.

"Lawyers representing both Rove and Libby have said their clients could be in legal trouble."

As soon as I heard that statement, I believed that was the cleaned up way of saying Oops, they got target letters!

They leaked late last week that the indictments might be on "peripheral" issues (they're spinning before even being served!), and Kay Bailey H shows up on MTP saying basically the same thing.
