US KIA in Iraq will probably stay under 2000 until after....
... the indictments. That is my prediction.

As of Oct 24th, 1,997 US soldiers have been killed in Iraq.
On the 22nd and 23rd it remained at 1,996. The average is about three lives for lies a day.

The Bush administration would not want the number of killed to reach 2,000 on or about the same day any indictments are handed down, because that would look bad.

I predict they will keep the reported number under 2,000. After the indictments we will probably see a surge of ten or twelve killed in action.

1. Or that could be the best day for a news dump
Let the indictment news swallow up the milestone.

6. I hope at 2000 people start to realize the folly of all of this.
But how many Iraqi's have we killed? How many women and children have we killed? How many homes have we destroyed?

I would venture to guess our soldiers have killed 200,000 or more people with our carpet bombing and straffing of villages.

I hope when we hit 2000 of our own dead people wake up and see that all we're doing is seeding violence for the next 100 years.

IDIOTS.

2. I saw a great homemade bumper sticker--
How many lives per gallon does your car get?

Lives per lies, lives per gallon...helluva way to waste lives either way.

4. Great bumper sticker idea. I keep
a running tally of the death toll "1997 DEAD FOR LIES" written with window chalk in the back window of my car. I think it gets my point across pretty well also.

There are no words....

There are to be memorials across the country to mark the 2000th official death.

And another important event that is needed to keep more from joining the military:

National "Not Your Soldier" Youth and Student Day of Action
Thursday, November 17th at a high school or college campus near you....

On November 17, International Students Day, join youth and students from around the country in UFPJ's first nationally coordinated day of action for and about young people! NOT YOUR SOLDIER!

Young people are the ones being forced to lose their lives in the illegal and immoral war. On November 17th, we’ll be the ones to stand up and say NO to Military Recruitment in our schools and YES to positive alternatives to militarism and war! On November 17th, tell Bush WE ARE NOT YOUR SOLDIERS!

3. Earlier today icasualties.org had a count of 1997 with
ten to be confirmed.

It later it read that there were seven to be confirmed, but it still gave confirmed count at 1997.

How could the number remain the same if three more deaths were confirmed?

I've seen this before there. Anyone have a clue what it means?

Thanks KO!

Merry Fiztmas in honor of the soldiers that have died for lies.

5. The 1,997 includes the unconfirmed names....
Here is what they mean:
Total (names confirmed) 1,987
Total (including unknown) 1,097

Then they changed it to:
Total (names confirmed) 1,990
Total (including unknown) 1,997

7. I think they'll hold the reports until it's over 2000
and try to slide it by. If they showed it right on 2000 it would be a bigger impact to the war lovers. Damn them anyway.

8. Remember that they don't count the deaths after they're evacuated.
They don't count the soldiers who died in the hospital as result of their injuries. So I'm willing to bet that US casualties are well over 2,000 already.
