4. Of course it's Joe Wilson's fault. |
|
He had NO right to tell the truth about Hussein and the Niger yellow cake, and even LESS right to love his wife and rise to her defense when she was outed.
My god don't you just HATE public servants who put personal integrity and dutiful citizenship above the selfish, mean-spirited agenda of the Bush administration?

To his backers, Joseph C. Wilson IV is a brave whistle-blower wronged by the Bush administration. To his critics, he is a partisan who spouts unreliable information.
But nobody disputes this: Possessed of a flamboyant style and a love for the camera lens, Wilson helped propel the unmasking of his wife's identity as a CIA operative into a sprawling, two-year legal probe that climaxes this week with the possible indictment of key White House officials. He also turned an arcane matter involving the Intelligence Identities Protection Act into a proxy fight over the administration's credibility and its case for war in Iraq.
exerpt..
Joseph Wilson, husband of outed CIA officer Valerie Plame, has not been camera-shy since Plame's identity was leaked. (By David Paul Morris -- Getty Images) Understanding the Plame Affair Key Players in the Plame Investigation Analysis and biographies on the main individuals involved in the investigation of the leak of Valerie Plame's identity to the press. Background on the Plame Investigation
Also beyond dispute is the fact that the little-known diplomat took maximum advantage of his 15 minutes of fame. Wilson has been a fixture on the network and cable news circuit for two years -- from "Meet the Press" to "Imus in the Morning" to "The Daily Show." He traveled west and lunched with the likes of Norman Lear and Warren Beatty.
He published a book, "The Politics of Truth: Inside the Lies that Led to War and Betrayed My Wife's CIA Identity." He persuaded his wife, Valerie Plame, to appear with him in a January 2004 Vanity Fair photo spread, in which the two appeared in his Jaguar convertible.

8. Of course! Wilson masterminded the outing. |
|
Sure, it makes PERFECTLY good sense. Wilson's got a mistress* and they conspired to out Plame in the hopes that she would get whacked and they could run off to Cancun with the insurance money.
*Mistress to be revealed in The Drudge Report.

Did Niger sell uranium to Iraq?

the grave and pointed out the traitorous bastards during a Vegas stage show.
The only paragraph of value in that entire piece of tripe is this:
Wilson's central assertion -- disputing President Bush's 2003 State of the Union claim that Iraq was seeking nuclear material in Niger -- has been validated by postwar weapons inspections. And his charge that the administration exaggerated the threat posed by Iraq has proved potent.
The rest is the usual media whore hackery.

put in place as an agent provocateur to get bush or his hirelings to break the law the fact remains the law was broken. Wilson did nothing to force them to out his wife. In some ways it would be funnier if the CIA had set the admin up in retalitation for bush trashing their agency. These asswipes have raised denial to an art form and mediawhores like milbank are complicit.

Yes. A crime-ridden White House, an illegal war pushed onto the American Public with a shoddy set of cheap lies.. screw all that! Let's smear the dude whose smearing started all this in the first place!
After all, what Wilson REALLY did was commit the worst sin of all- he contradicted Lord Dubya, in public.
This story reminds me of something, though, that I heard all the time during the latter part of the Clinton years.
It's not about Joe Wilson's flamboyant fucking style... It's about the RULE OF LAW, remember, Dana?
RULE OF LAW! RULE OF LAW! RULE OF LAW!

25. See Dana, that's what's so deliciously ironic. If the Administration had |
|
not gone after Wilson and his wife....THERE WOULD BE NO SCANDAL!
Instead the geniuses of the Adminstration went after Wilson and his wife and managed to blow the cover of a CIA covert agent working on antiproliferation of WMD and a CIA front company! Generally, this is not considered a good or smart thing to do.
And so blaming Wilson for the scandal is rather like blaming the victim of an attack rather than the attacker. Strange.
Might as well blame that CIA too, those whiners: they actually filed a crime report with the FBI. And the FBI investigated. And then the DOJ called in a special prosecutor.
None of which would have been possible if the administration had instead chosen to just blow it off and let Wilson have his few minutes of fame until the media find something else to talk about like Michael Jackson or something equally of national import.
When it's a fed investigation and possible grand jury indictments, Wilson really is irrelevant. Either crimes were committed or not and the evidence of that is what matters.
And yeah, what is Pincus doing having his name on this? Milbank is no surprise, but Pincus knows better.

28. So the crime was an "arcane matter" |
|
and Wilson is unreliable. Funny, he was reliable enough to send to Niger to gather evidence for the shrub's war. They are so full of shit, and they are screwing themselves over by claiming that he's unreliable. If he is "a partisan who spouts unreliable information" and his credibility and integrity were in question then the Administration was negligent in sending him to Niger on a fact finding mission that could have, and did put the lives of our troops in jeopardy, let them hang themselves if they want. Morans.

i guess the WP really is nothing but a piece of trash. if someone turned that in to a middle school english teacher, she'd laugh at it. "No one can dispute..." What BS. I dispute. Am I no one? As a matter of fact, anyone who doesn't have their head up their ass would dispute half the things in that article.
