WARNING - Liberals have completely hijacked the intellectual elite!
I tell you, it's terrible. When you take a look at the smartest, most sophisticated and creative people in the U.S....it's ALL LIBERALS! Everywhere you turn, if it's intelligent and applies to the real world, it's being said by a liberal.

What I want to know is, when are Republicans going to mount a campaign to take back the intellectual elite? Because right now it's completely overrun with those damn progressive liberals.

.
.
.

If the Republicans really want to turn "intellectual elite" into an insult...by all means, let them.

1. I guess using your brain is a bad thing huh?
:eyes: So by that notion since my dad uses his brain and is an engineer than he is a liberal? Even though he's a republican (the Teddy Roosevelt type thank God he isn't a freeper or fundie).

Democrats are far more conservative than Republicans today.

6. By the way, this thread was inspired by the new "Merlot Democrats" meme.
If they want to try to marginalize us for being sophisticated and intelligent, who are we to stop them?

13. Don't you people understand!
There are almost no conservatives left in the intellectual elite? Those sneaky liberals have taken over our universities and are now the only smart people out there!

The intellectual elite is being run by LIBERALS!

Perhaps I'm the only one amused by the new notion that being intellectual is a bad thing.

BECOME liberal, because liberal is better ;) and the conservatives don't understand it.

When one of them TRIES to become an intellectual conservative, they invariably become an intellectual liberal, because of the laws of nature. So this method backfires.

Once in a while there is an intellectual conservative impostor, but they aren't really intellectual, they just know how to repeat 'smart'-sounding things (e.g. trickle-down theory of economics blah blah blah)

That's my story and I'm sticking to it! :D
